Math. Garrett was not “just traded for one” 1st round pick. A premium young player, a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd is not Garrett getting traded for just one 1st round pick. And again, everyone is completely blowing off the 3 years of rookie deal control on Verse. What are we doing here?

They add a very good young pass rusher entering his prime on a rookie deal and collect draft capital for the future. Probably should’ve gotten two first considering the rams pick will be a the bottom of the round but it’s solid for both sides.

Rams are inheriting Garrett's contract with low cap hits for 3 years and a functional APY of ~$33m for 3 years - very possibly the last 3 elite years he has left.

That's like 8th in EDGE APY, some ~15m/y under market now.

Contract wise, Garrett is a bargain for the Rams.
