Especially in today’s era, college basketball players are older than ever. So why hinder your development by playing against younger kids? Play your age or play up.

The jump from high school to college basketball is one of the toughest transitions in sports. The speed of the game, the athleticism, the physicality, and the strength are on a different level. Competing against older, more advanced players can really help prepare you for the next level.

It’s really sad, but after the first recruiting weekend for the 2027 high school class, I had a couple of coaching friends tell me this week they can only take one or two high school players because they have to save spots for the transfer portal. I guess these kids have to go to lower levels and work their way up. A very small percentage will stay anywhere for four/five years. The new normal. 🤷🏼‍♂️🏀
