Way back in 2013 I had a 5th year senior LHP who, through the schere will of being a hard-headed Northeast Philly kid, closed games on Fridays and started games on Sundays for most of the whole year
We weren't great, but Sean was a dude. We had 14 wins, he had 5 wins and 5 saves
Nothing against Joe (because he’s not the only one saying this), but the Marlins did not pioneer a “revolutionary concept”.
Mid major college baseball teams have been doing this for years: Start a guy on the weekend & then bring him back for 20-30 pitches during a midweek game
Yaxel Lenderborg on his NBA debut and guarding Luka: "I got to see what the NBA is like, man. Lot of flopping, lot of foul baiting, lot of praying to the ref. Interesting first game for me... Being in there firsthand, just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect. That was awful"

"Yeah, it was interesting. I got to see what the NBA is like, man. Lot of flopping, lot of foul baiting, lot of praying to the ref. Interesting first game for me, for sure.
I had a lot of respect for him (Luka). You know, just watching. I didn't really watch the NBA much, I just watched highlights. Seeing him, you know, kill people all the time. But then being in there firsthand, just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect, man. Like that was awful.
Like me getting frustrated, it's not about the foul being called, it's about him complaining the entire game. And then you get the foul call, congratulations bro. And then you talk to me like you did something great, bro? Come on, dog. That's just weak. It kinda threw me off for a little while, cause you know, like I said, I had so much respect for him. Gone man, gone.
I was telling him he sucks, he can't score on me. You talking and you can't score on me. I said it the whole game. I said a couple cuss words obviously, you know, that's why I got the technical and all that. But I was letting him know, because he was laughing and talking all this because of that one foul call.
His only bucket on me was a banker from half court. Like I know that it's a team sport. You know, he had 28pts on us as a team. Me, I took my matchup personally. Tried not to get caught on the fouls. Tried my best. I was thinking about playing him with my hands behind my back to see if that worked, probably would've still got a foul call."

@siege_22 Daily, forget momentarily that you've been called "coach" and assume you have the title of "customer service rep"
Are you meeting the demands of the customer, have you built value in your product, how likely are they to return to buy it again
It always straightens me out
@CaseyDill22 We've got 4 former coaches with Milb jobs and 2 with full time NCAA jobs.
And those dudes grinded when they worked for me, at a level you can't comprehend from the regular world.
@cj_bilbrey The times it'll be like i was a volunteer at 1 time too, and then you check the notes and it's like at a large regional state school with $80,000 worth of Camp Revenue.
We live in a world where a college baseball coach will sell access to talks from college baseball coaches (where they will preach the virtues of selflessness) for the cost of like $150mnth
There's nothing like the proletariat being taught servant leadership by the bourgeoisie
Ditto. Heck, most of my winter break is improtu zooms and speaking appearances. If I've got the time and your kids/parents need info, why would I charge for it, it's my job
I'd like to be finished with the part of my life where I Have to watch Jalen Hurts play QB for my football team.
Hes not good at it. Stop pretending. Thanks for the super bowl, but noone who is actually good can look this bad consistently.
@tallmaurice I'm down. I've got a commute 90 miles every day. So, I'm going to rock some Maurice mixes in honor of our random meeting at Dominican resort during the middle of the Sixers process era.
Feels like a good way to bring in the LeBron era
@CameronMaybin What's funny is that an understanding of analytics is more than likely the reason you got to the big leagues.
Your best trait was a combination of athletic upside well-rounded tool set and a willingness to walk just enough to counterbalance your flaws in approach.
I'm not sure any rule change in MLB has had a more pronounced effect than the 3 batter minimum.
It's just so few guys even in a big league Bullpen that you look at as a three out reliever that has a favorable matchup in a tight game.
