Indiana didn’t just hit a big run here, OSU gifted it to them.
One misfit. One explosive play.
In Ep. 2 of “Why This Run Hit,” I break down exactly where the defense lost the rep.
Big plays usually aren’t luck.
They’re structure and assignment.
@QuincyAvery So real talk, I know you’re talking specifically about offensive minds, but how does a black man break into the higher levels of this game as a defensive coordinator, when we’re often relegated to “specialists”? Ex. I want to be known as much more than a pass rush specialist.
@_PonderWithMe_@jschwartz115 I wish I could find the video, but Steph, and another shooter I think talked about the over emphasis of uniform form as opposed to finding a shot that works for you and shooting it more than anyone else with consistency. Let’s not forget, this man is in the NBA.
GOOD DEF COACHES KNOW HOW TO TEACH LBS TO FALL BACK ON ZONE PLAYS RATHER THAN FILLING A GAP ON THE DEF SCHEME. THEY SHUFFLE PLAY SIDE+ NEVER COMMIT UNTIL THE BACK HITS IT FORWARD IN THE OPEN AREA. THE DAYS OF FILLING THE PROPER GAP WITH AUTHORITY HAS GIVEN WAY TO MIRRORING THE RB
Better question: what y’all gon do in the fall when every player on the field defensively has a d1 offer. Scary hours at The Swamp. We will talk soon.. 🍢
