Dabo Swinney with a must-listen on adversity and the main difference between successful people and everyone else.
"Here's the difference in successful people and unsuccessful people - It either shines you up or it grinds you up."
"It's what you're made of on the inside."
Resilience is your ability to face adversity.
It's being able to endure, and move forward stronger

“A lot of times the guy that plays hard is better than the guy that has the most talent." - Kirby Smart
Talent tells people what you could be.
Your effort tells them what you are.
Because coaches don’t bet on ability, they bet on reliability.
Overprotected kids become unprepared adults.
Dawn Staley nailed it.🔥
You can’t shelter your child from every hard moment and then expect them to handle adversity when it counts.
Hard is the lesson.

New Florida Football Head Coach Jon Sumrall said the biggest mistake young coaches make is trying to do too much too early.

Everyone wants the credit.
Few want the mirror.
“We need to look at ourselves when we have failure and point to other people when we have success.”

Parents who see that cultivating mental toughness in kids can give them a huge advantage in life are on to something big. They understand that every time their child sticks it out when times get tough, they improve their odds of success in life. Adversity is coming. How they respond to it may be up to you.
Reminds me of the old saying “Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child”.
