@runarorama@RockChartrand@MarketPalmer_ That's how the free market works. You can bet at some point there's going to be legislation - probably a throw-in line item on a 68,000 page bill nobody reads - that cracks down on data collection for TVs. Watch how TV prices will start to rise after it goes into effect.
Was just talking to someone the other day about how dumb it was to carry our clubs in college when we could have used push carts. Doesn't matter how good of shape you're in, strapping 20+ lbs on your back for 18-36-18 (for the NC today 18-18-18-18-18-36-18) is honestly really dumb when push carts are available. Given the level of precision to play at a high level, you're on your feet all day & walking 6+ miles per round, can't believe over the course of a tournament a push cart doesn't save at least 1 shot, likely many. If playing in college today I wouldn't hesitate to use one.
Too bad we missed you at Omni this year, hopefully next year. #GoBears
@WallStreetApes Then the company has lower earnings, the stock tanks, and everyone with a 401k loses money, all while the money they raised from the tax is wasted by the government & makes the politicians rich. Brilliant ๐
@einhornbienche1@TourSwingsTommy I don't agree with this, but the original point of amateurs being much better off trying to mimic the swings of LPGA players I agree with as they are easier for an amateur to replicate.
Yea, and that should be illegal too. Once you open Pandora's box there is no going back, which is why people are fighting so hard against taxing unrealized gains because it will destroy this country faster than anything else right now, which says a lot given how hard our politicians are working at destroying the country already.
The quality of the services cities provide from property taxes does not change between homeowners based on home value, & those budgets should not arbitrarily increase just because they think the land is suddenly worth more. I get the same police, fire, school, or whatever other service the city claims it provides if I'm in a $100K home or $1M home. Calculating property taxes like this is absolute insanity & people defending the government doing it while complaining about billionaires, who create more than any of our government entities could ever imagine, is beyond absurd.
At some point you'd think people would stop asking "why would you transfer to a 2A" and instead, be more humble & ask "what are they doing right that makes people want to be a part of what they're building at a 2A". People don't want to believe us when we say the A's don't matter, maybe that's because we're singularly focused on our own plate, fully committed to doing what's right for all our boys, and not worried about what other programs are doing. @uh_crooms #stcshoops
Not as much flopping and flailing tonight. The one 3-pt foul he got was absolutely ridiculous, he basically had his shoulder pointed to the basket when he jumped. But outside of that, I have to say, much more of a joy to watch tonight. Truly enjoyed the game, what a real, absolute joy it brought me.
You're right, nobody is forcing me to watch SGA, so I don't. I like basketball, I want to be entertained watching it, & I try to watch & enjoy, but whenever the Thunder are on & I try to watch I see them flop & flail almost immediately, while also playing overly physical on defense (part of the reason the FT differential stats are dumb, but that's a whole other argument not worth getting into), so I turn it off. Just like I never watched Harden, because despite being very skilled, he was a flopper & not fun to watch. But he wasn't making it to the NBA Finals & winning championships. As a basketball fan, I want to watch & be entertained, so it's frustrating that the product sucks. And no, it's not just SGA & the Thunder, I watch very little NBA now because the product overall sucks & I hate what Adam Silver has done to the league. But the Thunder are in the spotlight so it's magnified whether you like it or not, that's part of being at the top of the mountain. End of the day, NBA ratings are an issue & this is the stuff that drives casual fans away from the NBA. Every SGA/OKC defender I see keeps deflecting & trying to use stats & lists & comparisons to other players. All I'm trying to get you to understand is people don't care about all that stuff, so continuing to argue with those talking points is completely missing the mark on the true root issue.
lol he's the 2-time defending MVP of the league & defending champion & finals MVP about to play in game 7 of the WCF, does it not make you stop & question why he's not being marketed? You don't find that a problem at all?
Again, at this point it's clear that much of the legacy NBA media & OKC fans are in incapable of understanding this. He says it's corny while trying to use numbers & lists of where he & the Thunder rank to try & prove a point that people don't care about, because those numbers are irrelevant when it comes to eyeballs on screen. But when someone tries to clarify why the narrative is what it is you still refuse to understand & deflect. This is exactly why normal people hate diehard soccer, hockey, & baseball fans who are awful at growing the game then wonder why people don't watch.
I didn't talk about anything other than he flops & isn't a joy to watch, which go hand-in-hand, and is the one and only narrative I've ever talked about, so any of those other things you brought up are irrelevant to my point. I also never said we must hate him, I said if OKC doesn't like the narrative it's on them to fix it by their actions on the court.
I'm curious, what other parts of a 30-pt blowout are more interesting to talk about when this is discussing the underlying component that will decide this series. It is highly unlikely OKC will win if the refs don't call the flopping/flailing. It's also something the viewers can't miss at this point. Like it or not, the Thunder have brought this on themselves & it will remain a narrative until they change their behavior on the court. If they don't like it they can stop falling over so much.
I worked in pro hockey & pro soccer in public relations & many of the frustrations I had with the legacy media in those sports were how tone deaf they were when it came to growing the game & relating to casual fans. Same for baseball for years with the "unwritten rules" media crowd. The NBA media defending SGA & the Thunder are so tone deaf right now when it comes to casual fans, the lack of awareness is truly astonishing. @colincowherd calls it the crowd that wants to be right instead of getting it right. NBA talking heads want to be right so bad right now using FT stats & all-time lists they have no clue how to get it right. This is not how you grow the game. #NBA #Thunder #sasvsokc
Actually, the really funny thing is, casual fans don't care. SGA is a flopper. Those are the optics no matter how many stats you post. Optics matter more to casual fans. The sooner you understand and accept that, the sooner you will understand why casual fans complain & don't like watching him. And until those optics change, there isn't a single stat you can ever post that will change casual fans feeling that way.
Used AI for fun to create my own stat tracking app, all to officially confirm I suck at putting...as if I needed AI to help me with that smh ๐คฆโโ๏ธ #ihategolf
