@coachwes_23 They are just frustrated and I get it. We are in the 18th season without Sonny.
Sinceโฆ CSU has almost as many head coaches(5) as winning seasons(7). 24 was the best season in 10 years and they only beat 1 other bowl team. Why is suggesting a different approach so controversial?
In an hour Coach had complaints CSU canโt compete with BIG 10, Big 12, SEC, etc. with NIL. AND also on why he isnโt comparing them to in-state service academy, FCS, and D2
Why is not ok to ask CSU to recruit CO better than ACTUALLY comparable programs?
They donโt. UNC has almost 60 CO, Mesa tends to get the most CO kids out of all college programs, AF is an academy so their standards are very different. Western does a solid job too
THANK YOU, COACH!!
Sure. Letโs say CO produces ~15 FBS level players each year. SELL OUT FOR AS MANY AS YOU CAN.
Build a program people in CO want to support. Do that with in-state players. Stop trying to convince other parts of the country to care about you (they donโt btw)
Except CO does produce more than enough D1 talent for CSU to be able to get more than 3 (+/- 2) a year. Thatโs the issue. The willingness for yโall to disregard CO kids is baffling to me. The mid to low tier player from TX & CA are NOT better than COโs 6th best in any position

@coachwes_23 You got it, Coach! This opens the door on my biggest issue with the overall CO โfootball cultureโ. But to your point of 40+ guys on the list, you can tell it is changing. Just slowly!
CSU could lead the charge and have communities across the state rooting for their guys in FoCo
@coachwes_23 ๐ฏ BUT if you want to use 247โฆ scroll a little further and youโll see too many G5/G6 guys each year that CSU could/should have if they approach in state just a bit better.
The whole dynamic changes if you can keep those kids home over of chasing leftovers out of CA, TX, etc.
Following this discussionโฆ Shocked by how much pushback coach is getting. It isnโt a new thing to CO HS coaches that BOTH FBS teams in the state have done a poor job recruiting local.
Too often they are late on a kid who would have been all in if they were just on timeโฆ
Imagine if CSU Twitter cared as much about the actual program as they do about me saying I want them to make a statement in recruiting the state.
Fyi having CO players on the roster does not mean they were recruited out of HS. More WOs and transfers than HS scholarships ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ

After a great phone call with @coachnighttrain, Iโd like to announce I have received my first D2 offer from @BHSUFB. Iโd like to thank all my coaches and family for this amazing opportunity! @COACHStultz14@CoachTylerK @CoachPhegley
