@ScottMcGee8 Coach, good luck this season! Was listening to your interview with @HScoachesClub and was hoping to ask you a question about something you mentioned.
Was going to DM but your messages aren’t available.
Coaches:
How well do you know your players? How much do you talk with them about non sports related stuff? Have you ever asked them “Tell me something about yourself?” or sports related, “Tell me how I can help you learn and improve?” and “What type of player do you dream about being like?”
You want to make an impact? Start connecting with them. Build those relationships.
*BASEBALL COACHES AND PLAYERS*
I have created a Google Drive with videos of 200+ MLB and Former NCAA hitters from different angles. If you have interest in something like this, hit the RT and I will reach out on how to access it. Preview ⬇️⬇️⬇️
If you are a baseball player that has inspirations of playing at a higher level, you need to watch ‘The Clubhouse: a year with the Red Sox’ on Netflix. It shows the mental, emotional and business side of high level baseball. There are A TON of lessons to be learned in it.
Love your players and help get them better. Simple as that. Doesn’t matter what method you use, or what somebody else thinks. If you love your players for more than the results on the field, while helping them see success athletically and in life, you’ve done your job as a coach.
Can the pitcher get outs. I HATE all these videos of kids throwing 90 into a net (if they even hit the net). How does that predict success?!?! Of course you want guys with velo, but they better throw multiple pitches for STRIKES. A STRIKE is still the best pitch in baseball
I saw FNU Baseball on a College Baseball Camp flyer that FNU Baseball coaching staff wasn't invited too.
Kid emailed before the camp and asked what would I be looking for.
I said, I didn't even know I was coming.
Parents
Please watch how you spend your summer money.
Mike Bianco said, "Once your commitment is greater than your feelings, that's when you get results. That's when it happens for you."
Commitment isn't giving into momentary desires, but choosing dedication.
It means perseverance, consistency, and focus.
Said it once, I’ll say it again
Amazes me how many athletes/parents STILL don’t get it
You must train in-season
It’s not an exaggeration… you HAVE to
You’re wasting time training for a couple months, losing all progress & repeating that same cycle year after year
Make time.
