“No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”

“If you can throw for 500 yards on somebody, you’re probably going to win the game. But if you can run for 500, you’re guaranteed to win the game and it takes their soul.”

Interesting idea of having a "Velocity" max test on lifts.
While I find the idea of testing velocity while on the way to testing max weight, having a goal of velocity and with weight as a concept supporting velocity, is fresh for me to think about.
Does anyone do a “speed limit” on maxes using vbt?
Essentially letting a kid do a 1RM, but it only counts if they hit a certain velocity(say .2 or .3ms), to help eliminate slow/ugly “PRs”
So happy to have 3 district champs today in the jump events. Knowing they will go to State is a good thing. Proud of the work the athletes put in and am excited to see how we compete tomorrow.
I just learned there are Executive Hours that I have not been utilizing an hour before everyone else during weekdays and Sunday. And a half hour early on Saturdays.
I haven't seen WR mechanics as good as Trey's in a long time. No wasted movement, fantastic focus and can catch anything near him. A reliable receiver that gives a feeling of comfort to the pass game.
So proud of my Jumpers today for Mountain View Track & Field!! So many PRs, and others who competed to improve jump after jump. It can be hot, it can be a long time, but I'm happy to see them stick through it to find the positives!
I heard many others got PRs and a school record!

This could be the best gift I've ever gotten.
After our QB Class episode, Sawyer Robertson gave me this and I had to get it framed... a freakin' MIKE LEACH CALL SHEET!
I truly can't get over this, what a great man Mike Leach was.
Thank you, Sawyer! I'll always cherish this!
