Trying to define what makes a truly perfect, efficient quarter (or as I’d call it, a “YIMPECCABLE QUARTER” 😄) — I’m thinking it has to hit an Offensive Rating (ORTG) of 200 or higher. That’s a mark that essentially means the team scored nearly every single possession.
Looking back over the past 13 years, it turns out there have been only 25 instances of teams hitting this mark in a quarter. To put that in perspective, during the same timeframe, there have been 54 no-hitters in baseball, 50 immaculate innings, and a perfect QBR has occurred 21 times in football.
Listed below are the "YIMPECCABLE QUARTER" over the last 12 NBA seasons. I’ll be watching closely to see if we get another one this season!

I think that the best part of this is you can just see the love that his former players have for him. As a coach, the relationships you form with your players are sometimes more meaningful than all the wins and losses.

@KevinOConnorNBA @cavs Chicago is scrappy - could potentially get one. But Boston is the only other game that they probably aren’t going to be favored (barring injuries). Can see them running the table.

The Suns came out blazing in the 3rd quarter, going a perfect 15-15 from the field to start, allowing them to get back into the game after trailing by 18 at halftime.
Looking it up, the NBA record for most consecutive field goals made in a single game is 25, set by the Boston Celtics against Detroit on January 14, 1985.
So does "the Wall" only work on free throws and not FGs? 😂😂

Overall, there have been over 150 transition opportunities, and honestly, there are some clips where the Bucks execute perfectly—closing lanes, communicating, and putting in the effort to get a stop. The issue seems to be consistency. Those solid defensive sequences aren’t happening often enough, and the lapses are coming far too frequently.
For me as a coach, it’s about building habits so that these moments of strong defense become the rule, not the exception.

When asked about the Bucks’ struggles in transition after a made basket, Brook Lopez didn’t hold back: “It’s baffling how easy those were... we have to make it more of a focus. So much of it is just effort. We just have to keep working at getting better.”
Since last season, the Bucks have allowed the 3rd most points in transition after a make (147 points), trailing only Indiana (167) and Atlanta (155). Let’s dive into some of the recurring issues in their transition defense and pinpoint areas for improvement.

It also looks like they’re allowing too many blow-bys, with the low man or help defender often nowhere to be seen. This could again be a byproduct of effort and communication—or the lack of it. Without being strong enough to hold your ground, as well as help at the rim, they’re giving up too many easy looks.
