Attention AAU and high school basketball players: As you head into the summer, play the game to improve, but more importantly, play the game for the right reasons: strengthen the relationships with your coaches and teammates and have fun while you honor the game.
You don't win by wanting it more.
You win by:
1. Preparing more
2. Competing harder
3. Holding higher standards
4. Showing up when it's hard
5. Doing the work nobody sees
That's the will to win.
Tensions were high at the end of Game 4 between the Nuggets and Timberwolves 😳
Both Nikola Jokic and Julius Randle were ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The greatest compliment a coach can get isn't trophies or banners.
It's when former players introduce you to their family and say,
This is Coach, the one who taught me how to be better on and off the court. That's the legacy that matters.
ACCOUNTABILITY MEANS:
✅ Do what you say you will do.
✅ Hit the standard you need to hit.
✅ Play and fulfill your role.
✅ Consistently produce results.
✅ Understand your ripple effect.
✅ Be there for your teammates.
✅ Follow through on your commitments.

Erik Spoelstra on LaMelo’s dirty play on Bam:
“I don't think it's cute. I don't think it's funny. I think it's a stupid play. It's a dangerous play. He should be penalized for that. I don't think that belongs in the game, tripping guys. He should have been thrown out of the game for that”

If “WE” as Coaches can teach the young men in our program how to show up on time, do the hard things, and SERVE others first—we are doing more than just coaching.
We’re shaping our future with better men!
