Had the opportunity to represent the @OHSBCAwebmaster at the Johnny Bench Awards today and meet the greatest catcher of all time @JohnnyBench_5. Congrats to all those nominated and the winners including @Coach_Meikrantz’s catcher Lucas Flack!
1. Go out on top.
2. Leave the cupboard STOCKED for the future.
3. Return to his hometown.
4. Pour his time into his own family.
Hard to draw it up any better than that!
I hate that Central Ohio is losing a coach who does it RIGHT, but incredibly happy for him and his family!
After an incredible career it’s awesome to see all his accomplishments and hard work be recognized by Johnny Bench and his committee.
He will be honored pregame on the field July 7th at Great American Ballpark!
Congratulations Lucas!!!
Couldn’t possibly be prouder of the season Landon has had!
8-0 and a .55 ERA.

Congratulations to Parker VanEnglenhoven of OLHS as well, as they share the award as Co - Players of the Year!
Good players have a BIG PROBLEM … That often keeps them from becoming great!!! …. They don’t like to look bad when they are training/practicing…. The result? They don’t challenge themselves. They stay in a comfort zone.
Growth comes from challenge and eventual mastery. Start stacking bricks. Conquer a skill and then build on it.. Start simple and predictable and move towards complex and unpredictable. This is where authentic confidence is found!
Yes, simple and predictable (easy) can be a part of your routine, especially as a warm up. But there needs to be an element of hard, or very hard in your offensive and defensive process.
Why? The game is very hard and one day you want to be able to make the hard look easy… so begin to DO HARD BETTER!

I got a chance 7 years ago to work an OSU baseball camp. College coaches, big name HS head coaches and myself. A young no name asst coach. Coach A made me feel at home and his energy, enthusiasm and passion have always been things I look up to ever since! Great career coach!!!
Just left Grove High School as @GCBaseball2024 wrapped up another youth summer camp. Big news from event this morning was coach Ryan Alexander (@CoachA8) announcing he was stepping down after 18 seasons. Big loss for program.
Winning baseball. Check the box ✅.
Dude has 23 home runs and 73 RBI and he puts down a safety squeeze in the CWS to score a key run! How many tools are in your box? How many ways can you hurt your opponent? …. Or are you one dimensional? … Or selfish… “I don’t bunt, I hit bombs!” Lol. Championship teams and championship players can do it all. Beautiful! Team first mentality! Refreshing. #cws2025

@CoachSwit Here in OH. The vast majority of HS coaches do a good job policing it. But in summer baseball it is LAWLESS. Actually heard a summer coach today tell his team to chirp more. Summer baseball undermines everything we teach the previous nine months. Incredibly frustrating.
After over 50 years with baseball in my life, 35 as a coach, 25 as head coach @DarbyBaseball, I have made the difficult decision to step down as head coach. Was fortunate to be able to lead a program from a brand new school back in 1997.

Besides having great baseball name, took a really good round of BP and showed some pop thru the middle of the field. Swing has some tightness to it but its a simple operation that gets on the barrel consistently. Ran a 7.24 and topped his EV out at 96.3.
