Camp yesterday with @KickingWorld at Central Oklahoma. It was a very hot day, but I did learn a lot and got some quality reps in. I also tried punting for the first time. Thanks for putting on a terrific camp Coach Brent!

A good kicker is a weapon in high school football. Excited about the value Jordy brings to our football program because of his character and drive to get better. His future is bright!

In-season training is non-negotiable if you want to develop.
Speed creates endurance.
Endurance never creates speed.
23 years of charting my metrics verifies this.
When I prioritize speed, my endurance numbers improve.
Why?
Speed creates speed reserve.
Game speed becomes more efficient & requires less energy.

The lesson track coaches must teach in the 400, 800, 1600, etc ⤵️
There’s nothing we can do to make hard stuff feel easy.
We must make it matter.
“The question isn’t if you’re brave enough, it’s if you care enough. You’ll endure anything if it matters to you.” ~Mark Manson
You can’t pay someone to work hard for you.
I see too many athletes going to private lessons 4x a week thinking it’s going to make them elite.
But at the end of the day it doesn’t payoff because they still have average work ethic.
How you do the work is still the key.
If 'how you play without the football shows how much you love your teammates' is true, then 'how much effort you coach the kids on your bench shows your love of athletes' is also true.
