Mediocrity is excellence to the mediocre.
Don’t be the teammate who’s satisfied with being good, or who lives on past successes!
No comparisons.
No complacencies.
Focus on being YOUR best every day; on your craft AND as a teammate!
That is what the truly elite do!

Help us in our mission of raising $100k to grow and supply our athletes with gear and more, “We updated the lockers to nicer lockers now. Even the little things like our gear and towels for traveling and bags and things like that have been updated.” #athleticsdayofgiving
The Bethel University Athletic Department will hold its 1st Day of Giving on Thursday, November 2! Having a Christ centered & student athlete focused department is top priority as we develop a first class culture! Striving for excellence in all we do! Excited to see God work!
Upperclassmen: The impact you make on your program goes beyond wins and losses. 10-year old kids are watching you and emulating you. Freshman and Sophomores are learning how to practice and compete daily by you. You are changing the future for better or worse. Leave your legacy!
You’re having a bad day, you’re not happy with the umpires calls, your body doesn’t feel 💯, you made an error, you walked the batter, you gave up a long ball, you’re not happy with your coaches decisions, you got jammed and your hands hurt, blah blah blah.
One of the best parts of this game is it doesn’t care about all that. It’s not going to wait for you to stop feeling sorry for yourself. It’s not going to wait for you to calm down and be tougher. Your opponents couldn’t care less how you feel. They are waiting for you to slip so they can pounce.
Many players beat themselves for reasons like this. Often it’s not the fact that their opponents are better than them but that they aren’t there yet mentally.
Teams that don’t strike out at a high clip win more games. Simple as that. This is amplified at the college level and 10 fold at HS level and below. Once you get two strikes, it becomes 100% a team at-bat. Grind it out. Compete your tail off. Choke-up, shorten up, widen up, get closer to plate and implement your two strike mental approach. Some call this their “B Swing.” Make the pitcher work! Always liked “look fastball away and adjust.” But there are other 2 strike approaches that are just as effective. Need to experiment and find out what works best for your style of hitting. Often a quality two strike approach leads to hard hit balls. But even when they don’t, the opposition still has to field it, throw it, and catch it. That’s called pressure. Much more difficult to defend than a right turn back to the dugout.
90% of hitting is really just:
• Getting a good pitch to hit
• Being on time
• Not freaking out when you're not
The little stuff that makes all the difference.
"It's feeling vs. choice. Are you going to do what you feel like doing or are you going to choose to do the things you need to do to accomplish the goals that you have?"
Average players make an effort when they 'feel like it.'
Great players choose to make a relentless effort.
We want to congratulate all of our baseball players as they ended the year with a TEAM GPA of 3.28! Our players have worked hard this year and have a strong desire to be successful on and off the field! Great job to everyone! #TEAM
Don't chase winning or results
Chase development.. chase opportunity.. chase experience.. chase preparation.. chase humility.. chase accountability.. chase being the best version of yourself
Winning/Results aren't always in your control. Remember that 💯
Everything above is!
Congratulations to Frank Plesac, Eli MacDonald, and Jeremy Wiersema as they were selected to the 2022 NCCAA North Central All-Region Team! All three of these men worked extremely hard throughout the season and deserve this award! Congratulations! #TEAM
