@tvheidihatch I work in education heaven forbid they buy us pizza on our first day back. The blankets are usually given as gifts to teachers of the year at each school. Most of the money spent on food is usually like a Christmas lunch or breakfast on the last contract day before summer etc.
@sinkerssnafu@tvheidihatch It was actually audited 2 years ago by an outside organizations and they found no fraud and was said to have been one of the better run districts from a financial standpoint in the nation.
@MRittCGS I think that should be the head coaches responsibility. Maybe have someone on staff to assist but when college coaches come to campus they want to talk to a head coach not an assistant.
@ChalkLast0712 I’ve called both sides of the ball. Game planning takes more time on the defensive side of the ball but once you get into the game with all the checks the defense runs itself. Offensive game planning is easier but game calling is harder because of the defensive checks.
33 years coaching high school football, all at the same school.
If I cloud go back to my 21 year old self, I’d tell him to relax. It’s less about X’s and O’s and more about Jimmy’s and Joes.
Make practice fun and competitive.
Make practice the best part of their day.
Celebrate the little wins.
Enjoy each day. Someday it will be your last.
Parents of 12 year old, weak & slow baseball players will spend TONS of money on stuff like this
Just let your kid lift weights, get strong & hit normally lol
High school coaches are expected to be champions, recruiting consultants, film scouts, & relationship managers — on top of teaching 6 classes a day. For pennies on the dollar. Some good ones are walking away. That’s a problem nobody’s talking about.
I’ve had 2 dads this off-season transfer schools for their senior year tell me “if they can’t start at X I’ll know they aren’t D1” 2 things first if you’re not hearing from D1 as you’re entering your senior year i got bad news you. Second why is that the be all end all just play

Andy Reid shares the 4 things that players crave the most - and it's not what you think.
"They want consistency. So I try to make it as consistent as possible."
"But most of all, in your relationship with them, they don't want you to tell them a lie. They want the truth."
"Sometimes the truth is good. And sometimes it's not so good. But they want that."
You can't build a strong relationship without consistency and honesty.
"I've found over the years that's the best way - as tough as it is for a coach - to tell somebody that's giving you their all every day, and they're making a living at this, that listen... you're not going to make it here."
The hardest conversations are often the most important ones.
"I try to give them the whys."
Don't just deliver the news. Explain it. Help them understand.
People want to be respected and they want to trust you. Give them:
1. Direction
2. Consistency
3. The Truth
4. The Why's
By doing this, you build connection, trust, and a strong relationship as a result.
