2003 Busch Race from Daytona, 20 years later. Thank you @AllWaltrip and @LarryMac28 for the kind words. It was the first time my dad heard him being tied to me, instead me tied to him. He called me post race and told me about it. He was in the hospital and passed 2 months later.

In 1986, I tried to make the Cup race there in my dad’s backup car. Bill Elliott won the pole with a 19.81 seconds. It took a 20.28 to make the field. I ran a 20.31.
.5 off the pole and missed the show by .03 of a second.

@SethSharp35 I told @jjyeley1 about this after the trailing arm went into his car at Daytona. NASCAR made a rule that the driveshaft had to be painted white after this incident.
