John loved helping players grow, earn opportunities at the next level, and stayed in touch with so many of his former players for decades. John was a a true connector of people who impacted so many. RIP @JohnCof82518816 ❤️ 2/2
Saddened by the passing of John Coffee. One of the first grassroots directors/coaches of the legendary Dayton Lady HoopStars, John was never in it for the money — he was in it for the young women he served. 1/2
Longtime coach John Coffee, who died this week at 80, remembered as ‘passionate promoter of girls basketball.' ... Thanks, @JDabbs86, for helping with this story. https://t.co/MSp0IwX9JJ via @daytondailynews
OHSAA basketball state tournaments will return to a format that will include the semifinals and finals all being held within a 3- or 4-day period starting in 2026. State semifinals to be held in Dayton area. https://t.co/RubNdwPGCN @WCPO@OHSAASports@SWDistrict@MaxPreps
Running a 2-3 zone in youth basketball stunts defensive and offensive growth, kills the fun, builds bad habits, and doesn’t teach kids how to actually play the game.
Behold, the most perfect thing in the universe: A clean NCAA bracket with dates, sites, tip times AND channels.
It's so beautiful I might cry.

@CoachFlan@OHSAASports Gone of the days of St. John Arena (the best experience) but come on. Every team that makes it deserves the experience. Give us back our Final Four!! Alter’s been there. They know what it’s like but FU kids may never get back. They robbed them. Took away the best experience!
@CoachFlan@OHSAASports Ohio Dominican last weekend was Alter vs. Fairfield Union game. I was there for Alter but I feel really bad for FU. They couldn’t even purchase State gear. You know what they received for making it to the final four? A bag tag that says participant and a free state program. Wow!
So I may or may not have gotten bored created a master plan to fix the OHSAA state 🏀 tournament…
Hey @OHSAASports, the ball is in your court (no pun intended)
What makes me scratch my head and what I miss is the Final 4 weekend was special. If only they could work it out where Wright State and UD arena could both host. D1-D3 at one D4-D7 the other. They’re 15 minutes apart.
