The more we learn about the recent active shooter in Idaho, the more I realize how many heroic men leapt into action that day.
Everyone rightfully has been talking about Jordan Salinas running towards gunfire in the parking lot.
But here is an off-duty Idaho state trooper jumping the counter inside, evacuating all of the workers, and then returning fire while being shot at.
This man should get the same praise for his willingness to put himself in danger to protect others.
The SpaceX Recovery team is still working to recover Flight 13’s Starship from the Indian Ocean. They’ve been overcoming challenging conditions and increasingly rough seas as they attempt to guide the 52m long spacecraft to port
Wanted to give an update on the hotfire anomaly investigation. Progress continues. The anomaly originated at the main oxygen valve on one of the BE-4 engines, which was later confirmed by hardware recovery and inspections. Extensive component-level and engine hotfire tests have been conducted to understand the failure mode better and inform mitigations. The path forward is clear. We're making small modifications to the valve that can be quickly retrofitted to existing engines. We’re manufacturing the updated hardware, which will be ready by the end of this month. In parallel, we're working through the remaining fault tree analysis.
For those interested in a spent booster impacting the lunar surface, this rare occurrence has decades of history, going back to the Apollo era, when NASA intentionally crashed spent stages into the Moon for science and seismic research. The reality is that meteoroids strike the lunar surface hourly, with impacts comparable to this upper stage occurring roughly every six days. The future lunar base will incorporate reusable spacecraft that not only deliver astronauts and payloads, but also become part of the infrastructure itself.
@DLarsonArchive I just saw a picture of him eating at a restaurant/bar. Looks real but im not sure. Also looks like he may have a care provider next to him in the picture which is a good thing.
The first Starlink V3 satellites in space successfully deployed their solar arrays, fired their thrusters, established connections with the Starlink constellation using radio frequencies and laser links, and captured imagery of Starship
@DLarsonArchive As interesting as it was to see what he would post as well as his thoughts i hope for his own sake and the sake of others he stays off the internet.
