Many thanks to all the @Ninestiles year 7 parents who heeded our advice and dropped their children off away from the main entrance, it made for a smoother start to their school day! Thanks also to the staff for their support in talking to parents about parking and road safety.
I’ve posted this as it shows a senior politician engaging wonderfully with a primary class. Great questions, mutually well-informed discussion and no patronising waffle or incomprehensible ruminating. It can be done ✅🤓 @ela_uob
@stacykstacey@GeogMonkey Our local private school was the first I saw going public with concerns over grades being dropped. They haven’t all been offered amazing GCSE results on a golden platter.
@NigelWGourlay @Miss_Snuffy Not delaying may mean they are only offered the wrong college place, or none. Had we delayed A level results, more students would have been going to Unis they wanted, not what was left. I’m torn on this - if we delay GCSE results we must delay 6th form and college enrolment too.
I wrote this in March, and I did it in a lighthearted way simply because I didn’t think it was possible that anyone involved in education would even consider such an obviously and insanely stupid idea for a second.
Yet @GavinWilliamson has made insane stupidity into policy.
@tes@GavinWilliamson Not standardised across country, often not full paper, often in class rather than exam hall, some students will not have sat a mock😡we will now have a week of confusion and fury followed by screeching U turn. Our students deserve better, follow Scottish example now
