🛠 A small update to the building system
Previously, all you had to do to construct a building was stand next to the blueprint and press the button. Now, you have to time your actions just right 💃
The construction process still happens even if the player misses the target green zone, but its efficiency is lower (proportional to the distance of the miss). However, if you hit the target, in addition to more efficient construction, the player also gains experience.
And by leveling up Crafting, the player also increases the target green zone. Consequently, the more accurately a player hits, the more experience points they gain, and the larger this zone becomes.
How do you balance this? With more complex buildings! Buildings are conditionally and implicitly divided into tiers, each with a different marker movement speed. The further the player progresses, the faster the marker moves.
And here it’s worth remembering that, purely from a development standpoint, the player will practically not be building anything by hand in the mid-to-late game phase, since there should be a sufficient number of settlers.
Thus, this mini-game is unlikely to get very boring 🤝

One of the latest updates in my game is the leveling and skill system.
From now on, every action a player takes matters, and character development becomes deeper, more flexible, and more intuitive.
The game world has become more alive. By performing everyday tasks—from gathering berries to fighting—players will gain experience.
The new mechanics are divided into four key areas (there will likely be more in the future), each offering unique bonuses.
🌿 Gathering
With each level, the character gains more resources while gathering; the efficiency of obtaining resources from wild plants increases significantly, and bees begin to bring in much more honey.
🔨 Crafting
Allows you to significantly optimize item production and construction. The main advantage of this skill is the constant increase in the crafting speed of any items, saving precious time. Additionally, for blacksmithing and other crafts, the chances of crafting higher-quality items increase.
👩🌾 Farming
Leveling up Farming increases the volume of the harvested crop and raises its final selling price. There are also a large number of smaller improvements that are hard to list. These include discounts on fertilizer purchases, more efficient fertilizer use, increased tool durability, and so on.
⚔️ Combat
Increases the character's combat effectiveness. By upgrading this skill, the player gains a bonus to maximum health, deals more damage to enemies, and regains their block gauge much faster during combat.
How does progression work?
The system gives the player complete freedom of choice. Experience is earned for virtually any activity in the game world: clearing enemy camps, gathering wild berries, building structures, completing quests, or working in the settlement.
Players can freely distribute the experience points they earn by investing them in specific skills—Gathering, Crafting, Farming, or Combat—depending on their current development strategy. Each level-up is accompanied by an on-screen notification, and the development of each individual skill tree is capped at level 10.

I am adding NPC communication mechanics between themselves and with the player to the game.
Characters take into account locations and their parts. For example: at the market, characters bargain and call out to buyers, and near the apiary, they warn the player to be careful with the bees.
I will also add more varied sounds, including sounds of emotions and taking into account the context of the weather, time, and the player's reputation.

I’ve added several new mechanics to the game — bandit camps, freeing them, and upgrading them.
I decided not to go with simple, empty tower points in the Ubisoft style, but instead to create more or less living locations that actually make sense to return to.
Over time, I’ll be adding different types of camps: captured farms, mines, and more.
I also plan to improve the visual side of the camps in the future (more decoration, visual representation of camp upgrades, etc.).
