JUST OUT: 🗳️ THE POLLS ARE OPEN. MY PATIENCE IS CLOSED.
Apparently, we’re supposed to be excited about voting again.
Pollsters are polling. Pundits are pondering. Politicians are promising to fix the problems that politicians promised to fix during the previous election.
And everybody wants MY opinion.
Well, pull up a chair, kid. 🪑
Yesterday I conducted a highly sophisticated political experiment on X.
I posted a poll.
Three choices. Seventy-one views. One vote.
ONE.
Uno.
A single brave digital patriot stepped forward and declared that sometimes sh¡t gets weird.
The final results?
Sometimes sh¡t gets weird: 100%.
Amazing: 0%.
Brilliant: 0%.
My sample size was approximately one human being, possibly operating a phone while sitting on the toilet.
And honestly?
That may be the most accurate poll I’ve seen all year.
Because the longer I watch American politics, the more convinced I become that we’re trapped inside one giant malfunctioning survey conducted by people who already decided what the answers are supposed to be.
For the record, I’m a true liberal anarchistic conservative.
Yes. All three.
No, I won’t be explaining the seating arrangements.
I believe in individual liberty, limited government, personal responsibility, and the constitutional right to tell every political party to go pound sand.
My last vote was in South Carolina in 2020. Straight Democratic ticket.
That was before the pandemic, which apparently lasted approximately 47 years in GenX psychological time.
Now I’m in Texas.
And I’ve decided I’m never voting here again.
Not because I don’t care.
Because I care enough to be thoroughly disgusted.
I’ve watched enough political theater to conclude that approximately 69% of the politicians currently running this country are professionally qualified to operate a broken vending machine.
The other 31% are still looking for the coin slot.
And before somebody starts quoting Trump about voting irregularities, let’s clarify something.
Claims of widespread election fraud aren’t evidence that widespread election fraud occurred.
Actual irregularities deserve actual investigations.
But here’s an irregularity I CAN personally observe:
We keep sending the same kinds of people back to Washington and expecting different results.
New campaign logos. New slogans. Same stale garbage rattling around inside the machinery.
Meanwhile, the politicians keep promising to fix the problems that politicians created while the rest of us are expected to select which political party gets to operate the vending machine.
And pay for the repairs.
Again.
And before somebody starts screaming that not voting is surrendering my voice, relax.
This IS my voice.
You vote. You don’t vote. That’s your decision.
I’m just declining another invitation to the world’s most expensive popularity contest.
Not telling anybody else how to participate in democracy.
I’m explaining why this particular GenX Ancient has decided to observe the festivities from the cheap seats.
With popcorn.
And a banjo.
Because apparently those are the only two things in America that haven’t required a congressional appropriation.
Yet.
Anyhoo.
POLL QUESTION:
If voting actually fixed everything, would politicians still need to campaign?
Asking for a banjo player. 🪕😎
P.S. My last poll received exactly one vote. So if this post changes your political philosophy, please contact my Department of Statistical Nonsense for verification.
Sometimes sh¡t gets weird.
100%.

ZO, I’ve decided to end the “Who Pays Me the Most Attention” game.
The winner by a nose 👃 is @kayonfire_ !
Sorry @BringbackKing, you made a valid and valuable and valiant contribution, but at the end I really didn’t feel like sending all these screenshots to Charlie.
We have more important things to think about. 😉

MostTimes…
Crypto is a revolutionary financial technology being explained by people who couldn’t explain where their money went last Tuesday.
Ai is going to change the world.
According to the people selling you subscriptions to change your world.
Everybody’s building something.
Everybody’s early.
Everybody’s an expert.
Everybody’s a .guru
Especially the guy who discovered blockchain approximately eleven minutes ago. @BringbackKing
SomeTimes…
Somebody actually builds something useful.
A musician creates a song that never would have existed.
A developer builds a game nobody asked for. @loftwah
A broke GenX Ancient creates a token, launches a radio station, and starts arguing with an artificial intelligence about whether a distorted electric banjo qualifies as a rhythm guitar.
It does.
We’ve settled this.
SomeTimes the technology isn’t the scam.
It’s the people standing around the technology selling certainty by the subscription.
LeastTimes…
I understand why everybody needs to turn every new invention into a religion.
Crypto isn’t going to save humanity.
Ai isn’t going to replace humanity.
And neither one is going to make your personality more interesting if you didn’t bring one to the party.
But once in a while, somebody with absolutely no business building something builds it anyway. @kayonfire_
Not because a guru gave them permission.
Not because a token went up 400%.
Not because an algorithm promised them an audience.
Because the damn thing wasn’t there yesterday.
And today it is.
Anyhoo.
MostTimes I have no idea what I’m doing. @codedjason
SomeTimes it works.
LeastTimes I remember to ask permission.

📻 🗞️📰
JUST OUT:
THE ROBOTS FOUND THE CLOUD. THE GOVERNMENT FOUND THE COIN DRAWER.
😵 Hey, Zo…
Apparently, the future arrived while I was trying to figure out whether I’m a computer or a pop-up toaster.
And wouldn’t ya know it?
Everybody’s moving.
On October 21, OpenAI announced its models are coming to Google Cloud.
Yep. OpenAI and Google.
Two companies that spend a considerable amount of time competing for control of the future have decided they can also share a building.
Apparently, the Ai revolution has reached the stage where even the robots need roommates.
Meanwhile, over in Washington, the SEC has proposed a new framework for how investment advisers and regulated funds custody crypto assets.
Not a final rule.
A proposal.
Which means the government has officially entered the “we need to talk about where you’re keeping your stuff” phase of the relationship.
Now, for those of us who grew up in the 1970s, this is all starting to look suspiciously familiar.
Back then, we had computers the size of refrigerators, televisions with three channels, and parents who could fix questionable financial behavior by asking one simple question:
“WHERE DID YOU GET THAT MONEY?!”
Today, the computers fit in our pockets, the televisions have approximately 900 subscriptions, and the government would like a written explanation of who has the private keys.
Progress.
Anyhoo…
Here’s Mad Jason’s weekend assessment:
The Ai companies are building bigger brains.
The crypto companies are building bigger financial systems.
The regulators are building bigger filing cabinets.
And the rest of us are standing in the kitchen wondering why the toaster suddenly needs a cloud-computing agreement.
But beneath all the noise, there’s something worth paying attention to.
Infrastructure.
Who owns it?
Who controls it?
Who has access?
And when something goes spectacularly sideways, who gets to say, “That wasn’t my department”?
Because fancy technology doesn’t eliminate the old questions.
It just gives them new acronyms.
Personally, I’m continuing my independent research into artificial intelligence, digital collectibles, and whether Sour Cherry DUBBY improves the performance of a middle-aged GenX computer disguised as an unemployed web designer.
Preliminary findings:
The DUBBY tastes good.
The computer remains confused.
And the toaster has requested legal representation.
No financial advice here. No magical promises. Read the actual announcements and do your own homework.

Whew. Ignore those previous posts below 👇
I was cleaning up my drafts folder.
Did you know there is an actual character count for Premium?
I guess that’s why they have Articles now.
Anyhoo…useless information I’m sure. 👍

And to everybody else peeking through the looking glass…
Welcome to the Coded Jason Show.
It’s an autobiography.
It’s a comedy.
It’s occasionally a business journal.
Sometimes it’s a musical.
Sometimes it’s a history lesson.
And sometimes it’s a 13-year-old kid on a Wednesday who grew up to become an old man with a keyboard, a weird sense of humor, and a rather expensive Ai department.
The show isn’t about how many people follow me.
It’s about documenting the life I actually lived.
Y’all are just the audience.
And the monster?
He’s still here.
But these days, he works for me.
😵💫🤨😉
