Spilled coffee on my final paper minutes before turning it in.
I offered to reprint it but my professor goes "nah, now I really know it's your paper. It's like your own personal signature."

@remembrancermx This is so sad, I'm sorry. I've been gushing about your thread to anyone who will listen since I saw it. Twitter can be such a dumpster fire. ๐
@hankgreen My fatigue and nausea levels vary a lot so what I really appreciate most is just when people treat me like I'm the same person (or even A person), while simultaneously accepting without question, judgement, or unsolicited advice when my current ability and capacity changes.
I have tried different ways to engage with it, because I want to enjoy it and I want to be part of it. But we're on Day 1 and I'm already tired. And I'm afraid that my most positive experiences with Pride Month are going to be the ones where I don't try to engage at all.
I really struggle with pride month. Being ace and agender, Pride Month often feels like more inside fighting than pride. The sense of community ends up an opportunity to define the boundaries of it. The increased visibility results in increased backlash.
@ScottsTOL The Psych one has a nice element to it because they do still actively make films even though the show ended years ago. So there's less "wow I miss it, wish we could go back" and more "we loved the environment so much, we'll make more as long as we can".
@ScottsTOL Actors from Psych host The Psychologists Are In and I really like it - they have guests each episode, other cast, writers, the creator, etc. It's actually a lot of fun.
I think they get popular because they just fit right in with the millennial relationship with nostalgia.
@GradSkoolStrugs Obv some things don't have that level of flexibility (lab tests etc) but I'm straight up with them and I expect the same in return. If I respect their time, I've found they tend to respect mine far more. I don't know if it's the best way but it's working so far.
@GradSkoolStrugs Honestly, as long as you show willingness to do the work, I'll accept it. Only policy is you need to come to me beforehand and be upfront. Don't come a month later, when grades are already entered. Come right away and I'll give you as much extension and help as you need ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@ToastedVideo @KatyMontgomerie I read it and honestly assumed it was just a "haha slipping a movie reference in here for the iykyk pals". I had no idea people were *actually* trying that. ๐ณ
@hankgreen All of this said, I do agree it has made me think a lot about the type of instructor I want to be. Focusing less on just teaching concepts and more on the ability to apply and engage with them, rather than just memorize and regurgitate that information.
@hankgreen Also consistent issues with people having trouble cancelling, price raising, poor descriptions of the different subscriptions so you don't realize what features are included in which plan and which aren't, etc. I'm sure some elements are individually great but overall, idk.

I don't know who needs to hear this but the "1000 yellow daisies" scene in Gilmore Girls is definitely not 1000 yellow daisies and I will never not be bothered by it.
