CoffeeShop has been rocking San Francisco with love since we started at a tiny, 300sq. ft hole-in-the wall in front of a cannabis club called Herbal Mission at 3139 Mission Street back in 2012. Olga and myself had just welcomed our first daughter to the world and we were obsessed with delivering our idea of the ‘Perfect Coffee Shop’ to the block.
In 2018, we took the leap to roasting our own beans and built our second store, now, 800 sq. ft.! at 2761 21st Street. It was here that Olga got inspired to get into French Pastry and within a year, our bakery was born. All it often takes is One well-timed compliment:
“Your viennoiserie is stunning!”
Or two:
“This is the most elite croissant in the Mission.”
Inspired and invigorated, it was then that we got to work developing what an up-and-coming coffee shop REALLY needs.
A Motto!
Even better, one that sells Coffee!!
“Join our cult, live forever.”
“Be wayy faster than All people.”
“Get a word in edgewise.”
“Text while stopped at stop signs faster.”
“Act Faster than you can think!”
“Defeat Entropy.”
“Ask me to find out more!”
“Awkward? Try coffee.”
“A Work of Heart…. “
By 2024, with our chosen Motto working its celestial MoJo, we had achieved a stable cadre of many hundreds of happy SF folks totally addicted to our offerings.
You’d see them, Jonesing for a coffee and a snack, often camping out at our doorstep at 7:01…and we completely outgrew our 21st Street location and decided to move our baking operations to 900 22nd Street in the up-and-coming Dogpatch neighborhood, and it was here that we built our Citadel to Caffeine, our Sistine Chapel to Stimulants!!
Start your day at CS3!!!!!!!:):):)

CoffeeShop. A Work of Heart.
Whether you like it or not, the Bay became the modern Alexandria. This is the edge and the people who got here are the type of people who go to the edge. It's very Californian. You are living in the California Age. Sorry
One of the defining characteristics of being conscious is having a private and subjective internal experience. Once we can plug our brains in directly I feel like that’s game over for any meaningful sense of self.
Could be wrong though. Maybe that’s when humans become cells in a new and improved super organism. Sounds hellish to me though.
We often praise the energy efficiency of the human brain for its mere 25W power compared to a GPU.
But it costs a lot more to keep this 25W organic computer happy; otherwise, it would refuse to work.
Just brewing a cup of morning coffee would take more supply chain and infrastructure build-out than a data center.
