@RoseSilicon "Every dev is using AI tools!"
> company executives pay for full Microsoft implementation
> Microsoft puts AI into Teams, Visual Studio, their own fucking OS
> yeah technically were using "AI tools" because we were using the same fucking tools before they had shitty AI
It sucks
@resh1228@JaAmfan > sell at a loss in the hopes you recupe from Steam purchases
> get bought out by scalpers or smaller pc companies
> machines get torn up for parts that sell for profit on the market
> dont see any money from secondary market and no Steam sales
@RealToasterBoi@Nofear_Dota@catgirlprostate Itll always be cheaper to shop sales and do DIY. Cheapest to buy it piece-meal and get it all on sale over months. Full price of these parts is $1145, which is comparable to the price of the Machine.
Generative AI is built on the stolen personal data and creative works of countless people across generations. Our art, music, writing, movies, photos, voices, journalism, and so on. Stolen by tech oligarchs.
It destroys jobs, communities, the environment, and now your hobbies.
@DoubleRworld88@kalaelizabeth The problem is many hardware manufacturers have sold all of their expected stock for the next few years to AI companies. If they dont already have a deal, they may run into what Valve did: there is just none available.

@realcoofy@thatbluenumber And likely a smaller form factor due to proprietary purpose-built frame and parts. Its really not egregious, its just the state of the hardware market.
@zacker150@EggieWeggieVT@Taiga_Chama Shame theyre still part of the industry regardless 🤷♂️ you can make personal considerations all you like, that doesn't change reality for those in security and vulnerabilities, or design, or database mamagement that don't use a lick of AI in their repos.
@zacker150@EggieWeggieVT@Taiga_Chama That sphere you're in is not indicative of the industry as a whole. Yes, FAANG (two As btw) companies use it, theyre the ones building their own and hoping to beat the stock market and come out on top. Non-FAANG companies, especially those not traded publically, are different.
@BunnyBoyTamaki@EggieWeggieVT@Taiga_Chama I have 2 people on my team of 12 that use any AI. There are plenty in my whole company, but majority of them aren't developers. The people that are developers see how messy and unworkable the code it generates is, not to mention the environmental impact of all of it.
@EggieWeggieVT@Taiga_Chama Its fine if you brought in a developer that used Claude and they taught you to use it in the way they do. Theres nothing wrong with that.
But its incredibly disingenious to say its "industry standard", and to say "everybody uses it like this". Its bad for Art and its bad Here.
@EggieWeggieVT@Taiga_Chama Ive been working as a developer professionally for 8 years. It is not industry standard to use Claude, even for "simple tasks", and using it upload to git is laughable because thats the easiest 2 console commands.
How anybody can willfully use AI tools ignoring the real human and environmental cost is beyond me. We've seen these companies invade towns and start bleeding them dry for an extra dollar on their share prices. Using AI tools will tell them you want more of that damage and faster
@EggieWeggieVT@puptartist Claude is a generative AI model the same as Chat-GPT or Midjourney, just because it spits out bad code doesn't make it different. Using these tools means more data centers, more diesel generators, more environmental damage.
These Generative AIs are the same and theyre all bad.
@EggieWeggieVT@Kenny4ag Its not ok when it encroaches on your livelihood in a visual medium, but ok when it encroaches on my livelihood in a technical medium. Gotcha.
@Klehkana Creative types are so ready to jump onboard hating AI when its encroaching on the visual medium but silent when it encroaches on the technical medium...as if our careers aren't just as at risk as theirs.
Just another AI-slop app peddled by hypocrites.
