Let us not forget the steep price which has already been paid so that we may celebrate this coming weekend. At Yorktown, Appomattox, Iwo Jima, and Fallujah, American men and women have paid for our freedom with their very lives.

After this 11th-hour budget deal was released on Friday at 7 PM, I spent the entire weekend going through it. It’s 600 pages long.

Three major problems with the budget:

❌ This is a data center-approved compromise. Data centers are not required to pay the full cost of the infrastructure that is currently passed on to everyday Virginians through their electric bills.
❌ A 150% pay raise for members of the General Assembly. We’ve barely been able to produce a budget on time this year. What’s been done to earn that?
❌ The retail marijuana market proposal was a separate 250-page document. This should be a standalone bill we can vote on, not in an 11th-hour special session stunt.

Bottom line: Virginia needs a budget – no one wants a government shutdown. But we need a budget that lowers costs, respects taxpayers, and protects families who are paying higher electric bills.

I’ll be voting NO.

Today, we remember a legend.

On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation’s timeline.

Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. Ten years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme.

He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the internet bringing millions of people together for one cause: never forgetting Harambe.

Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Here’s the deal: Abigail Spanberger, Don Scott, Louise Lucas and all their friends knowingly violated the Virginia Constitution.

They purposefully violated clear constitutional procedures to deceive voters, capping off their master deception with ballot language meant to confuse everyone.

They strongly argued for the VA Supreme Court to “wait” until after the referendum so their flood of money from national democrats could fund their brazen dishonesty and trick voters to “restore fairness”, and then claim “the will of the people” when the VA Supreme Court would undoubtedly strike down their unconstitutional attempt to disenfranchise millions of Virginians.

It’s a disgusting disregard for Virginians, the Constitution and a flagrant violation of their oath of office.

I don’t think it’s possible to overstate how significant today’s Virginia Supreme Court opinion is in striking down the unconstitutional gerrymandering amendment. But the law is crystal clear and the judicial branch did its job.

Justice has been served. From the beginning, this was the most obvious violation of Virginia’s Constitution. Abigail Spanberger and Democrats in Richmond knowingly violated our constitution to disenfranchise millions of Virginians.

The Constitution prevailed, and Virginians will never forget this unlawful attempt to rob them of their voice in Congress.
