Thanks @jillwebb2005 fanzine arrived yesterday pm. Started reading it last night and it's a great trip down memory lane. Reminded me how much I used to love reading fanzines back in the day.

@Nigelbrook8 @PunKandStuff Yes, they were.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@Sabia_ForadaLei @PunKandStuff It's not Peel's festive 50 it was compiled from the votes of listeners to his radio show.

Season's Greetings.
Here's hoping to get a time machine tomorrow.

@jillwebb2005 London Calling for me as it means a lot to me personally.
Thought that you might be interested in comparing this poll with the NME writers top 40 singles of 79.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@jillwebb2005 It's been fun thanks for doing this Jill.
Imo 1979 was the best year for music.
Two classic songs in the final but not my favourites of the year.

#joestrummer rock'n'roll radical, Joe Strummer, died 22 yrs ago today which was also a Sunday. He taught us youngsters so much about anti-racism, anti-fascism and socialism. My tribute to him is the book I wrote about his politics and their influence on us

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@caroline_binnie @ScotsPostPunk @NewWaveAndPunk Bought this soon after release (Most likely after hearing it on Peel). Still have it today.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@CollettWriter Quite a few in your list that interest me. Bikeriders especially I must see. One that isn't in your 20 that I intend to watch is The End We Start From.
Did you see it? If so what did you think?

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@CollettWriter I hope so too 🙂. I will google the films for info.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@NewWaveAndPunk @EnglishHeritage Agreed. So maybe it requires an unofficial blue plaque to be put up.
Just a thought.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@GCPunkNewWave @ScotsPostPunk Good track. Both the song and band are new to me.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@robertmdaws @AndyMitten Same here. Thought went it this. Art, history and culture on a programme cover. Could become a future wall poster.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@NewWaveAndPunk Underatted track. Sounded even better when played live.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@SeventiesLegend @hmvBroadmead It's OK but imo a better film set on a remote Scottish Island is

@NewWaveAndPunk @749rjoeJoe Also the same for me 😎.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@AdamBryant_1 @FirstBSA You are correct I thought the same myself when I read it earlier. Unhelpful for customers that don't.

[Cold War Kid @ColdWarKid9]

@Dazbo_B @NewWaveAndPunk Same here. The first I heard of it was The Photos song. Which in turn conjured up imagery of wanting to visit it. For me anyway.
