Momentum is building in Southampton.

Following a productive Branch AGM, we've appointed a strong leadership team and have already started putting plans in place for the future. Discussions are underway around developing Ward Captains, growing our activist network, increasing membership, expanding campaigning activity, and organising fundraising and community events.

At the same time, our 8 Reform UK councillors are settling into their new roles, establishing local surgeries, engaging with residents, learning council procedures, and beginning the hard work of delivering for the communities that elected them.

Politics is about more than winning elections. It's about building teams, developing people, creating sustainable structures, and earning the trust of residents over the long term.

The media loves division. Most ordinary people don't.

Seeing a Sikh gentleman shaking hands with local patriots last night was a reminder that this isn't about colour or creed. It's about fairness, justice and looking after our communities.

The frustration many people feel is understandable. Years of neglect, ignorance and being ignored have taken their toll, and emotions are running high.

But protest must remain civil. Violence only hands ammunition to those who want to dismiss legitimate concerns and fuels the very people who thrive on division.

Respect is earned through character, not background.

Disappointing to see this kind of politics in Sholing - Southampton.

Using someone’s illness to score points over meeting attendance isn’t scrutiny, it’s poor judgement.

Residents care about results, not cheap shots.

Sarah has continued to work and deliver despite difficult circumstances. That’s what matters.

Southampton deserves better than this.
