Monday Devo: Rely on the Lord In chapter 10 of Isaiah, Israel has been in a state of dependence on the nation of Assyria. Assyria was a nation much richer and more powerful than Israel so it was easy for Israel to go to them for their needs and have trust in them to take care of them. Eventually Assyria stabs them in the back and turns around to conquer the people of Israel, they “struck them down”. After this, the remnants of Israel learned that they must put their trust and faith in The Lord alone. The Lord will provide every need that we have. We don’t need to go put our faith in worldly things. All of our needs will be met if we just “truly rely on The Lord” every single day.
