@jonbrooks This graph highlights the flaw of CPI to accurately track inflation, more so than the “bubble” of home prices. Hate to say it, but the dollar is just worth 40% less than 5 years ago, home prices are essentially flat in real terms, but CPI doesn’t show real terms.

The Fed provides money to the government when it doesn’t collect enough taxes and can’t sell treasury bills at the rate they want.
