@McDonaldsUK Please upgrade your hot drinks cups for dellivery, otherwise customers will keep getting a hot mess like this. I am as careful as I possibly can be, but this keeps happening. @Deliveroo@ubereats_uk@JustEatUK
"Let food be thy medicine," said Hippocrates.
As I recover from my eye surgery, my food is important.
Kale for zeaxanthin, courgette for vitamin C - both vital for eye health. Fresh turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Plus tofu & toasted sunflower seeds. #T1D
@AtypiclDiabetic@JyotsanaRangee3 I agree. And you become more motivated to fight back and control your condition better. Which in turn makes it easier to live with.
Ever noticed how diabetes conversations often center on numbers, but not the people behind them? Access, stigma, mental load—these shape outcomes too. It’s time we shift the dialogue. #DiabetesCare#BeyondTheNumbers
@tinodzikiti Couldn't agree more! For example: getting my CGM was a double-edged sword - I wouldn't be without it, but it's ramped up my anxiety considerably.
@DiabeticDadUK I agree, yes. But it depends a little: how rare is rare? I experience pump or CGM failures a few times a year. It isn't a major setback to me, as I always have spares. As with any tech that is critical, a backup is vital. (Just look at Heathrow!)
"To me, managing chronic disease well is founded on three basic principles: self- management, peer support, and access to trained professionals.
We do not spend enough time and effort on the first two"

Eli Lilly, the maker of my 30-year old insulin, is one of the most profitable companies in the world.
They sell insulin to diabetics like me who must buy or die in a country where prices of life-saving drugs aren’t regulated.
Nationalize @EliLillyandCo and make insulin free.
@AtypiclDiabetic@ElieJarrougeMD Another #T1D here. 7 years #keto. It's been nothing short of life-changing. Just got my best ever HbA1c today, which is in the non-diabetic range.
