@siamesebhoy This only serves to highlight how badly we’re underachieving in Europe if the figures are to be believed. And Dermot doesn’t fund the club.
@jduffy132@rcbhoyno1@weedavebhoy I don’t think any manager with other options would go near Celtic right now. Not many would fancy working with our recruitment model.
@jduffy132@rcbhoyno1@weedavebhoy If there had been any sort of proper recruitment process there would’ve been other options when the Keane appointment broke down, regardless of the reason. Instead it was another desperate call to O’Neill. Absolutely no way for a club of Celtic’s size to conduct its business.
@jduffy132@rcbhoyno1@weedavebhoy Celtic’s recruitment process for the manager’s position basically consisted of DD offering the job to Keane. No list of candidates, no interviews. Once the inevitable backlash began they were left with no options except to give O’Neill a call. Totally dysfunctional.
@teddys0704@p_bov1 You didn’t clearly state an original point so I’m not sure if you feel validated, you merely asked a question that needed clarification.
If my responses have made you feel a bit better then I’m happy with that so no problem mate.
Take care, and remember, it’s only fitbaw.
@teddys0704@p_bov1 There no confusion at all. I understand your need to create a comfort blanket for yourself so who am I to take that away.
Here’s a full breakdown if you need it.
Old Rangers: 54 (1 shared)
New Rangers: 1
Celtic: 43 v old Rangers, 9 v new Rangers, 4 v neither Rangers club.
@teddys0704@p_bov1 What exactly are you suggesting then?
If you read my previous reply you’ll see that I’ve answered your question, although surely you’d already come up with tally yourself?
@teddys0704@p_bov1 Ok, so what you’re suggesting is the 4 titles Celtic won when Rangers weren’t in the top division should be discounted, therefore making the count 55-52 in Rangers favour. Is that correct?
Answer me this then, how many seasons have each club spent outside of the top division?
@teddys0704@p_bov1 It’s not that simple a question unless you define what you mean by “head to head for a title”. For example, in 1990/91 Rangers and Aberdeen went head to head for the title until the last day with Celtic finishing a distant 3rd. That’s not Celtic and Rangers going head to head.
@DM8883 I actually think this has worked out exactly how Rangers expected it wouid go. They don’t want the expense of policing away crowds in the derbies.
@ScotlandSky What was once one of the world’s great derby matches has now been reduced to a complete non-event outside of Glasgow. No wonder the SPFL can’t get a better tv deal.
@undervalu@CelticFC Postecoglou was appointed 4 months after Lennon left, and only after the club had waited and waited on Eddie Howe, only for him to walk away.
While the appointment of Postecoglou turned out to be an excellent one, he wasn’t first choice, and it certainly wasn’t quick.
@siamesebhoy Human rights violation is a bit of a stretch😂
Of course buying your season ticket and club merch etc isn’t a financial investment. It is, however, an emotional investment. The board would do well to recognise that football supporters are not the same as supermarket customers.
