Youโre invited to attend the Winnipeg Rally Against the Gun Grab on Monday at Winnipeg City Hall.
The Liberal government keeps criminalizing law-abiding firearms owners instead of focusing on violent criminals and repeat offenders.
Unfortunately, I'll be in the Northwest Territories with the National Defence committee next week, but please come out, show your support, and make your voice heard! ๐จ๐ฆ
Join CPC MPโs Colin Reynolds and Grant Jackson along with the CCFRโs Tracey Wilson for a rally against Winnipegโs decision to accept funding to help the Liberals with their gun grab. We want to send a clear message that law enforcement resources should be focused on reducing crime, violence and gun smuggling not attacking legal owners ๐จ๐ฆ
Everyone welcome, gather in front of city hall!! Signs provided.

Small, invasive silver carp can be confused as native baitfish. They can grow up to 40 kg and their leaping behaviour is a serious physical danger to water-users. Protect MBโs aquatic resources and donโt import bait. Spread the word โ Donโt Let it Loose! https://t.co/yxLHLwE9yH

A peer-reviewed study published in the journal Nature Sustainability has concluded that the populations of hunted species are more likely to have stable or increasing populations and less likely to be listed as threatened compared with species not hunted by licensed hunters.โ
โ
The study examined almost 1,700 different game species around the world, comparing the health of game populations hunted by recreational hunters with those hunted strictly for food. They concluded that species hunted by licensed hunters were less likely to be threatened and less likely to experience declining population trends.โ
โ
Why are game populations subject to licensed hunting healthier? A major factor is the revenue generated by properly regulated hunting, through license revenue and philanthropic support, which can be invested into conservation and enforcement initiatives. Hunters also support stewardship by contributing valuable information on harvest, disease, and other factors influencing populations.โ
โ
This conclusion, while well understood within the hunting community, may seem paradoxical to non-hunters. It is a timely reminder that hunters can be proud of their contributions to the sustainable use and enjoyment of our wildlife resources.โ

MWF was very pleased to see the recent provincial budget commit $459,000 to hire four more full-time conservation officers for the Manitoba Conservation Officer Service. Conservation Officers play a critical role in the conservation of our environment and natural resources in addition to their role enhancing public safety. We sincerely thank Minster Bushie and the provincial government for this commitment to enforcing the laws that promote the sustainable management of our fish and wildlife populations.

I have been thinking about the bravery of the RCMP officers and their reaction time in Tumbler Ridge. Much has been made of the RCMP brass and their communication to the press, but it is the front line officers who nobody will know about, that deserve praise.
Officers were on the scene within 2 minutes of the call and according to reports, took fire from the shooter, diverting his attention and resulting in the shooter taking his life.
In a small town like Tumbler Ridge, the thought of responding to such a horrific incident like that likely never crossed those officersโ minds. But they answered the call without hesitation.
Our brave police officers take a lot of abuse and criticism online. Sometimes deserved, but rarely do they receive necessary praise. They will hold those images in their heads for the rest of their lives and probably feel guilt for not being able to do more.
Everyone likes to think they would be brave in the face of such brutality and put their lives on the line, but the reality is, most wouldnโt.
As northern Manitoba continues to draw outdoor enthusiasts from near and far, the Pas RCMP and its community partners remain committed to preparedness, teamwork, and protecting those who live, work, and explore the region. #MBMonday#rcmpmb
Having their local government participate in the gun grab program is not something Winnipeggers should be proud of.
Thatโs because gun crimes arenโt committed by licensed gun owners who take courses and pass background checks.
Winnipeg needs to disavow Ottawa's gun confiscation.
