I'm excited to share. We're challenging some aspects of teaching cases. You can access for free. Check out : Keeping it Real: Why Case Research Writing Conventions Need to Loosen Up - Colleen M. Sharen, Meredith J. Woodwark, 2024 https://t.co/NBJTSp40a2
Brescia University College and the Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship present the Women in Entrepreneurship Panel. Join us as we hear from a panel of successful female alumnae entrepreneurs share their story and launched a successful entrepreneurial venture.
@SusanneAlthoff Another of our (Jean & Sharen, 2021) recent studies show that exposing adolescent girls to entrepreneurship early increases their knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship. https://t.co/AD8LAHQW1A
I just published a story about how @WesternU and other schools should cancel frosh week to stop rape culture https://t.co/taseJmvHuS

Details about what happened this weekend at Western are still coming out; what we do know is that sexual assault happens on every campus in Ontario. /1
Expertise isn't about being consistently right. It's about becoming decreasingly wrong.
A hallmark of understanding is the ability to rule out inaccurate theories and flawed evidence, and thereby move closer to the truth.
Learning is the art of discarding mistaken ideas.

10 years ago, I stared my undergrad journey at @WesternU / @BresciaUC. 😱
My advice to first year students? Take it all in. Keep an open mind & put yourself out there. You may want to get your “life” started, but these years will be pivotal.
From a fellow @westernuAlumni 💜
This should be a bigger news story. My opponent Madison Cawthorn recently said if our elections “continue to be rigged,” there could be “bloodshed.” That is beyond the pale - even for him. Please help me get 1,000 retweets on this by retweeting far & wide to help spread the word.
This is so important. The advice we give women to be more like men often will not work. But I think of us as strong, confident women rather than "dominant women."
Seeing ads like this that disparage a whole gender group — political message aside — make me think we need more @BresciaUC. Messaging across industries and platforms is still fundamentally sexist and misogynistic.
When men raise ideas, they're respected as leaders. When women voice ideas, they're often ignored.
Data: men get more credit than women—even for identical suggestions—from both male and female audiences.
The gender of the speaker should be irrelevant to the value of the idea.
#DearEmily, don't let anyone tell you that you're not strong enough, or you're note enough!! You'll grow to be a strong, fearless and independent!

This is such a great step for @BresciaUC to take. Our community requires a more daring kind of leadership and Brescia just took that step. And Marlene will be terrific. Congratulaitons to all.

In too many meetings, great ideas get overlooked because people fail to support them.
New data: amplifying others' ideas helps them get heard... and makes you look good.
One of the best ways to elevate the group—and earn respect—is to champion voices that aren't being valued.
Chronic underfunding of universities by the ON government hurts everyone from students and faculty to the community.
It's the elephant in the room, and it doesn't have to be like this.
