Unfortunately, I am not able to return to my college counseling work this summer as planned (thanks COVID-19!), so I am not taking on new students at this time. I am so sorry for the inconvenience!
Excited to share my class of 2020 admission results! I cannot imagine how challenging this spring has been for these incredible students. https://t.co/L07KbGsYI6
Officially starting my maternity leave today! My Twitter account will be quiet in the coming months and I will not be taking on any new students until summer 2020 at the earliest. Wishing you a lovely holiday season, happy 2020, and best wishes for this application cycle! 🙂
The December 1 application deadline is a week away! Be sure to submit all materials by 11:59PM in your time zone to be considered for first-year merit-based scholarships, as well as admission to certain majors for both first-year and transfer applicants. https://t.co/oOJDMy6vzX
Just in: UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ just announced her support of dropping the SAT and ACT as an admissions requirement. Says research has convinced her the tests" really contribute to the inequities" of the system.
@CoachTiers Mostly Common App, Coalition (for our state flagship), and 1-2 other state university system apps. A few got away with only completing the Common App, but it looks like the average kiddo had 3-4 different apps to complete.
The first Early Decision acceptance of the season is in! Huge congratulations to Xinsu who will be joining Baylor University's class of 2024! Way to go :)
If you're submitting your #CommonApp this week, congratulations! We hope you won't wait until the last minute to submit, but if you need every last moment to make sure you are submitting your best work, note that you have until 11:59 pm, your local time, to submit. Good luck!
Me: "Please share all Nov 1st essays with me by Sunday at the latest." (PS most of these were originally assigned over a month ago)
Tuesday morning: 32 new essays in inbox. Many with a "Hey, I need feedback on this by tomorrow so can you do this ASAP?"
The end is in sight! Congrats to the following awesome seniors who are done or putting the finishing touches on their applications: Sam, Megan, Devesh, Aden, Zoe, Zach, Kita, Xinsu, and Jack. Way to go!
Things I would not recommend: Being in the third trimester of a pregnancy during college application deadline season. No wine and limited caffeine is rough!
If you are working with an applicant today concerned by the message they’re seeing on @CommonApp please tell them they have until midnight tonight their time for EA consideration. And then give them a hug & tell them it will all be ok.
