Some early results coming in! After 7 days, germination has started to occur for both species in the constant hotter temps of 30-40ยฐC (hot day and hot night). No germination below 25ยฐC yet! @TimCurran8@Ljbell3Linda
Seed science is never black or white. Except for Alectryon subdentatus and A. oleifolius seeds. Today we started a thermogradient plant germination experiment from seeds collected last week in the North-west slopes.

Headed back out to the North West Slopes for more threatened community monitoring and seed collecting. Scoring a collection of Alectryon oleifolius fruits at Planchonella NR was a nice way to start the trip. #SavingOurSpecies#ozplants#PlantBank#conservation
Another early Xmas present for me๐ฒ - my 'Distribution of dormancy types' paper is available as early access in @annbot! This one was 3 years in the making, so I'm stoked it's out! Thanks again to my co-author @ooist7. @UNSWScience@CES_UNSW@unswbees.

Very happy that my new paper with @ooist7 has been published in Seed Science Research. We looked at the germination of 18 species from the Rutaceae family, and discuss how environmental factors may influence dormancy https://t.co/TSKPAq3WZ6
A very exciting day as we collected abundant Brigalow seeds (Acacia harpophylla). The species doesn't flower & fruit often (it's a prolific resprouter). Thanks to the wet year they're dripping with fruit. Great to be taking these back to #PlantBank#conservation#SavingourSpecies
Yesterday I submitted my PhD thesis 'The ecology and distribution of physiological seed dormancy in temperate, fire-prone Australia'. Thankyou to all those who supported me, especially @ooist7 . #PhD#PhDone#nowicansleep
@nicola_stvns @TimCurran8@ooist7@unswbees@CES_UNSW Hey Nicola, thanks! At the moment there is only one paper out about dormancy cycling here: https://t.co/v1Xt7CLzTv
But I have three more in review so keep an eye out!
