@MattBakerSTL The team is drastically better with Lowen starting. The career results are obvious. There is no world where Durkin is the better player at any spot of the field. He doesn’t bring the same quality anywhere. Even if he was an average player, he has to be out there for free kicks
@MattBakerSTL@stlCITYsc Maybe Leo Campana available as he works back from injury on a GAM trade deal. Contract until 2027 around 1.5 mil with an option year. New England just brought in a striker
@CoachDanGo Have to disagree on fasting being overrated. The hormonal, mental and spiritual experiences from one 3 day fast has changed my relationship with food. Haven’t had an issue with weight management since. Fat is an endocrine organ, it requires a fasting state to be utilized
Connecting young people to digital networks serves no purpose if they remain disconnected from themselves, others, and their own interiority. We must help young people rediscover silence, reflection, the ability to ask questions, the depth of relationships, and openness to transcendence. To listen to the soul, we must lend an ear, because the soul's voice is not a shout, but a whisper.
Strength training is the closest thing we have to an anti-aging pill.
But most people over 40 avoid it because they think it's "too late" or they'll get hurt.
Here's what the research actually shows (and why your doctor should be prescribing this instead of medications):
Everyone's waking up right now. Friends who used to laugh at my "rabbit holes" are suddenly asking questions.
The corruption, lies and evil are now impossible to ignore anymore.
But all that information overload can be dangerous.
You can spend hours doom scrolling, getting angry, and feeling helpless. Meanwhile your kids are watching your presence, focus, and mental and physical health slip.
The world didn't just fall. It fell a looooong time ago. We've just had decades of comfort blinding us to it while evil hide in plain sight.
So what you do with that? Double down on the one thing that matters:
For me, that's building a life that directs my kids to salvation. Period. The end goal never changes regardless of what happens here.
That means being present. Not glued to a phone or chasing the next headline.
That means being strong. Ready physically, mentally, and spiritually for whatever comes next.
That means leading by example. Showing our kids what to believe by living it out each day.
That means protecting the home. Guarding what comes in and being intentional about the inputs my family consumes.
That means building something that lasts. Not chasing comfort or trusting broken systems. Creating resilience that only comes from God.
There's more uncertainty than ever in this world. But only in this world.
Because Jesus already won.
The outcome isn't in question. Just whether you'll be ready. Whether your family will be ready.
Control your inputs. Lead your family to truth as their spiritual leader. Protect your health and stay ready.
Everything else is noise.
My youngest is about to take her first steps and I can't stop watching her.
She pulls herself up on the couch, stands there wobbling, then falls.
But with no hesitation she just gets right back up.
My wife and I realized this might be the LAST TIME we watch one of our kids learn to walk and there's some sadness in that.
But this tiny human is teaching me more about life than most adults ever will.
She doesn't analyze the fall or need a motivational podcast to try again.
She just gets back up.
Somewhere along the way we lost that. We got afraid to fall.
Afraid to look stupid, fail publicly, and admit we don't have it all figured out.
So we stopped trying.
My daughter doesn't have that voice yet. She just has a goal of getting to Daddy. And she'll fall 1,000 times to make it happen.
What if we approached life like that?
Fell off the diet? Got back up.
Missed a week at the gym? Got back up.
Hard conversation didn't go well? Got back up.
Dropped the ball with your kids? Got back up.
It would allow us to avoid the shame and prison that is the fear of failure.
She's going to walk any day now because she never stopped getting back up.
The fall isn't the failure but staying down is.
@MattBakerSTL@stlCITYsc Feel like this makes sense as we probably have the same candidates as the Crew which is obviously the more attractive job. We probably end up with whoever misses out on that job
Big Tobacco has killed over 25 million Americans with cigarettes.
Then they took over the food industry and engineered ultra-processed foods.
Now 40% of Americans are obese and have a chronic disease.
Here's how they secretly created the deadliest product since cigarettes 👇
1) Invading Your Food.
For decades, tobacco companies like Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds have had their claws deep in the food industry.
They've used the same manipulative tactics they used to hook people on deadly cigarettes to get you addicted to ultra-processed junk food.
2) How It All Started.
By the 1980s, Big Tobacco was in trouble.
The science was undeniable: smoking was killing millions of people.
But instead of backing down...
These profit-hungry corporations shifted their focus to a new target:
You FOOD.
3) The Start of the Food Takeover.
In 1985, Philip Morris made its first big move.
It bought General Foods (the makers of Kool-Aid, Jell-O, Maxwell House) for $5.6 billion.
The largest non-oil company acquisition ever at the time.
This was just the first domino to fall.
4) Doubling Down: Kraft Acquisition
3 years later, Philip Morris wasn’t satisfied after buying Kraft for a whopping $12.9 billion.
Now, with General Foods and Kraft under their belt, they could apply their dirty playbook to dominate the food supply with engineered addictive foods.
5) A Monster is Born.
By merging Kraft and General Foods, Philip Morris had unprecedented control over what Americans were eating.
Their goal wasn’t your health.
It was to make sure you'd be addicted to their cheap, processed junk food for the rest of your life.
It didn't matter how much it would harm your health.
After all, these were cigarette manufacturers.
6) R.J. Reynolds Joins the Dark Side.
R.J. Reynolds, another cigarette giant, saw the opportunity and bought Nabisco Brands in 1985.
Now, Oreos and Ritz crackers were under the control of a company that knew how to manipulate cravings as well as it knew how to sell cancer sticks.
7) Turning Food into Drugs.
Big Tobacco weaponized food.
Using their engineers and expertise in creating addictive products, they were able to use chemicals, sugar, and the perfect combo of salts and fats to hook you just like they once did with nicotine.
8) The “Bliss Point” Making You Helpless Against Cravings.
The "bliss point" is a term they borrowed from tobacco—the exact amount of sugar, fat, and salt to make you crave that food as much as possible.
The result?
You’re eating not because you’re hungry, but because your brain’s been hacked.
9) Funding Food Science to Fuel Addiction.
With billions at their disposal, these companies poured as much money as possible into food science to fine-tune flavors that trigger your brain’s pleasure centers.
As a result, they've made it nearly impossible to stop at one chip or one cookie.
10) So What Can You do About It?
This may paint a dark picture of what you're up against but you're not powerless.
The first step is awareness.
You need to recognize that you're in an uphill fight for the health of you and your family.
No matter what, they can't force you to buy the processed junk.
It's down to you to take control of your health.
To help you do that, we made our new Ultimate Guide to Health.
It covers simple and sustainable changes you can make to be healthier and lose some body fat too.

This one from hit me during my morning quiet time:
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
Nobody wants to get up early to lift.
Nobody wants to walk in the cold.
Nobody likes to say no to comfort, convenience, or cravings.
But God rewards those who build a life around discipline not because He loves rules, but because He knows discipline builds strength, clarity, and peace.
Discipline is how we show God we can be trusted with more. It’s how we prepare ourselves for the calling He’s placed on our lives.
So when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or painful DO IT ANYWAY.
Because what feels like sacrifice today is often the very thing that leads to peace and purpose tomorrow.
Over the years, I’ve come to fully embrace what I call the contrarian lifestyle.
If the masses are being directed to do something, I take it as my cue to go the opposite way.
That mindset didn’t come naturally. I grew up in the rural Midwest. A place where hard work was everything, but questioning the system wasn’t part of the conversation.
For the first 20+ years of my life, I followed the path I was told to follow: go to school, get the degree, land the secure job, and life will work out.
What I ended up with was a “safe” healthcare career, massive student debt, and a painfully narrow understanding of the world outside that box.
It never sat right with me. I didn’t have the words for it then, but something always felt off. Because when you finally start asking questions, you realize how deeply misguided the entire system is.
They tell you to eat “plant-based” because it’s supposedly better for the planet, when really it’s just better for corporate margins cheaper to produce, easier to control, and guaranteed to make you dependent on the medical system down the road.
They tell you to pick a political side (red or blue) as if either one actually cares about the average person trying to build a meaningful life.
They tell you to work 40, 50, 60 hours a week, pay your taxes, and feel grateful for your “security,” while the same government prints trillions of dollars and quietly steals your time and energy through inflation.
They tell you to send your kids off for 8 hours a day so strangers can “educate” them teaching them what to think instead of how to think. This often shapes their worldview in ways that directly conflict with your family’s values.
And most people never question it, because questioning it requires responsibility. It’s easier to numb yourself with escapism alcohol, Netflix, video games, fantasy football than to face the uncomfortable truth that the system isn’t broken.
It’s working exactly as designed.
But you don’t have to play the game.
You can opt out.
You can reclaim your health, your family, and your freedom but it requires personal responsibility and sacrifice.
It means building your body and mind so you’re not dependent on pills to get through the day.
It means taking back your kids’ education so they grow up grounded in truth, not ideology.
It means living below your means, building financial literacy, and refusing to trade your time for things that don’t align with your purpose.
When you do that, you start to see the world for what it really is not a place to be survived, but one to be stewarded.
The contrarian path isn’t easy. But only one I see worth walking.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “We’re about to release dietary guidelines that are going to change the food culture in this country. They’re going to change the kinds of food the military gets. They’re going to change the kind of food our children get. We’re releasing those in December.”
About time!
When you give up your health, you give up your freedom.
Because when you’re dependent on a pill to control your blood sugar, a prescription to keep your blood pressure stable, or a med to calm your anxiety you’re no longer in control.
You’re at the mercy of a system that profits from your sickness.
The most powerful people in the world understand this. They know a population that’s sick, inflamed, and dependent is a population that’s easy to control.
You don’t need force when you have dependency.
If you can’t function without your medications, addictive foods, or external substances then you’re no longer free.
Freedom isn’t just political or financial. It’s biological.
And the people in power have done everything possible to disconnect you from that truth.
They told you to stay inside trading sunlight and nature for screens and fluorescent lights.
They told you diet doesn’t matter as long as you take their drugs.
They told you to “ask your doctor” instead of asking better questions for yourself.
But once you take your health back through real food, daily movement, sunlight, sleep, and stress management the illusion breaks.
Because a healthy person can’t be easily manipulated.
They think clearly.
They question everything.
They no longer bend the knee.
The system doesn’t fear sickness it feeds on it.
What it fears is a population that’s strong, independent, and free.
We live under the illusion of choice.
Walk into a grocery store and it feels like endless options with aisles full of different brands, colors, and labels.
But look closer and it’s the same 5 corporations behind almost everything on the shelf. Corn, soy, seed oils, and sugar just repackaged with a different label and a “healthy” claim.
It’s the same illusion playing out in healthcare. Most hospitals and “independent” clinics are owned by the same massive systems.
So when a good doctor pushes back against their protocols, they’re forced to either comply or leave the area entirely.
Your doctor doesn’t have freedom and neither do you.
Even the local rancher isn’t immune.
He’s forced to send his cattle to a USDA approved mass processor if he wants to sell in stores. He can raise it clean, grass-fed, regenerative but still has to go through the same industrial pipeline that dilutes everything it touches.
That’s not freedom. That’s controlled choice.
Every path in food and medicine leads back to the same corporate gatekeepers.
You may not be able to opt out completely but you can make conscious choices to distance yourself from these systems.
Buy from local farms and ranchers who raise food the right way and continue to advocate for deregulation that handcuffs those doing it the right way.
Find a direct primary care doctor who works outside the system. Someone paid to keep you healthy, not to push tests and prescriptions.
And most importantly, take control of your own health.
Cook more of your own food.
Get outside with your hands in the dirt.
Train your body to be resilient.
Teach your kids where their food comes from.
And finally question every system that profits from your dependence.
Freedom is found in taking ownership and refusing to outsource every part of your life to the same institutions that made you sick in the first place.
