I’ve been choking up at these words by Matilda’s father Michael (as reported by The Guardian):

To arrive as immigrants and be so grateful to your new home that you call your daughter the most Australian name you can think of, only for her to be murdered in an antisemitic massacre (and the worst terror attack in Australia’s history) by other immigrants who do not share that same gratitude…it is just too cruel to bear.
