@USFBullsTboned I’d assume he wants to pay off his private investors with generous ROI. Aside from that Space X has massive cap ex incoming as Musk would want to ramp up production of Starships for increased launches as well all the orbital infrastructure he wants to build (space data centers)
@USFBullsTboned Primarily to raise money from the public markets. Private fund raising only gets you so much and when you have shares, you can pretty much sell as much as you want any time you want
@USFBullsTboned That would be a market cap of 5.2 T. Rumors say that Musk might merge Tesla into SpaceX. Only path that I can see SPCX hitting that cap
@willweatherford@NewCollegeofFL@USouthFlorida and I didn’t see any considerable pushback from USF community on this topic.
Limayem and Weatherford had to play ball to avoid fucking USF further in state funding if they got on Tallahassee’s bad side.
In the end it came solely down to the public and we did not show up… 🙃
@willweatherford@NewCollegeofFL@USouthFlorida As President Limayem previously mentioned, the only one that has the final say what happens to USF (state owned institution), is DeSantis- not Limayen nor Weatherford.
The State answers to its citizens so the only ones who could have made a legitimate opposition was the public
Not sure I've heard this before but at BoT Meeting just now they referenced that the $222M Translational Research Institute will now be constructed on the Fletcher District site. Was originally set for the NW corner of campus.

A lot to be proud of & a lot to build from for @USFSoftball!
Thank you, Bulls Nation, for supporting this special team!🤘🏻😤📈
Go Bulls!
Happy to vote for your continued exemplary leadership on a presidential ticket!
Only red flag that I see is pushing to pry away USF-SM from USF… 🚩🚩🚩
Pretty ironic that the first light pole is going in at our new home on today of all days! @willweatherford has been a guiding light for USF Athletics and our alma mater to say the least. When times felt dim, Will’s leadership, commitment and steadfast approach helped infuse a needed light, which will undoubtedly shine and continue to grow for decades to come. Bulls Nation, please join me in thanking Chair Weatherford on a job well done! Excited that Will is remaining on the USF Board of Trustees to continue carrying out our mutual unwavering mission and vision. With our amazing @USF_Pres Moez Limayem and (pending the BOT’s vote) incoming Chairman (the ultimate USF Bull) @mikegriffinFL, along with all of our leadership all working tirelessly together, the upcoming days and years will be USF’s brightest ever. All Gas. No Brakes!!! And as always, Go Bulls!!!🤘🏻😤📈
This is absurd… It’s time USF makes an immediate hard push to open up a law school so we can send USF Law alumni to Tallahassee to represent our interests
USF Lakeland —> Florida Polytechnic University
USF Ft. Myers —> Florida Gulf Coast University
USF Sarasota-Manatee - Next
Gov. Ron DeSantis’ push to give the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus to New College of Florida is a “red flag for all of us,” University of South Florida president Moez Limayem said.

@ASmilingMom4@TallyBull@OzarkBull Losing our high earning alumni to other cities also equates to loss in local community investment, professional networking, political advocacy, etc all of which directly reduces alumni involvement and donations/investments back into the university
@SanjayKurian@usfcardsfan Opening up a new college is definitely a time and resource intensive undertaking so a decade is very reasonable. I’d like to see a push from our leaders to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later. USF getting shafted by Tallahassee every chance they get is unsustainable
