🇵🇭 🇯🇵 While we Filipinos remember Imperial Japan's atrocities to the Philippines during World War 2, we are discerning enough that Imperial Japan is OBVIOUSLY different from Modern Japan.
Due to the Catholic Christian education and an absence of extreme anti-Japanese education, we Filipinos are forgiving and do not hold hateful grudges against the Japanese even though we remember what they did before.
Also, we see Japanese economic aid and investments to the Philippines as a form of reparations from Japan which we Filipinos appreciate.
We also have stories of individual Japanese who apologized to Filipinos for WW2 wrongdoings which we accept.
I personally do not want to live my life with hate in my heart.
