@LouisvilleMayor water in Hurstbourne Acres neighborhood turned yellow today. Been trying to report for over an hour, no answer @louisvillewater should we be boiling our water.
@MeidasClips As an educator for 27 years, I suggest quarterly drills where you close all the curtains and everyone huddles in the corner until security gives the all clear.
A wonderful evening at the Grand Ole Opry with Tyler White, his fiancée Madison Marilla, their families, and our friend Clay Bradley. Tyler’s set was incredible and Madison gifted us with a pair of her handmade bracelets. A perfect night. 😍
@MarcWeinbergWX@MarcWeinbergWX it was strange to see so many empty seats by the time Oaks ran. Top deck viewing was almost empty. They took food and beverage service away at 8:00 and people poured out. Just strange
I introduced HR 8591, the No Capital Gains Tax on Family Farms Act, with @RepMGP yesterday.
The bill preserves family farms by allowing farmers to sell their land to family members without paying capital gains taxes. We are losing too much farmland to data center development.
@KyWhitney When I was a high school social studies teacher, I was blessed to teach one elective that I pitched and wrote the curriculum for called Reel to Real. Students loved the BOB unit, we visited Ft. Campbell and analyzed primary sources from Easy Company.
Huge win for states rights and MAHA!
The special provisions for pesticides (and herbicides like glyphosate) was just stripped from the farm bill by an overwhelming majority!
Automobile kill-switches are coming soon to car dealerships near you.
I teamed up w/ Scott Perry & Chip Roy to defund this Orwellian mandate, but too many colleagues (Republican & Democrat) voted against us, so the federal mandate for every new car after 2026 is still in place.
I will never understand people who think walkable urbanism is an impossible goal in Louisville.
if we can level communities to build highways, we can level highways to build communities.
.@JamesTalarico to Joe Rogan: My principal told me I was going to teach this kid named Justin, who had brought a knife to school. I told him I wanted to get to know him. We started to build a rapport. Right before winter break, he brought me this gift — a snowflake that he had bought at the Dollar Tree for his teacher.
I came back after winter break and heard this commotion. There were two of our coaches restraining Justin. That was the last time I ever saw him. Justin had been seeing a therapist provided by the school district, but because of budget cuts, the district had eliminated the therapist.
Adults he was trying to trust were abandoning him. That was the radicalizing experience for me. People at the state capitol had cut $5 billion from our schools. I promised myself that if I ever got power I would do everything I could to stop that. Justin and my students are the criteria I use to evaluate public policy.
