The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police is proud to support the launch of the first-ever Law Enforcement Child Month this July in partnership with the National Fraternal Order of Police and Gratitude Initiative.
Throughout Colorado, thousands of children grow up in law enforcement families. They experience the unique challenges that come with this profession, including missed holidays, long shifts, late-night calls, and the uncertainty that can accompany a parent’s service to their community. Their sacrifices often go unseen, but they are an important part of the law enforcement family.
Law Enforcement Child Month is dedicated to recognizing, celebrating, and supporting the children of law enforcement officers across our state and nation.
We encourage Colorado law enforcement agencies, FOP lodges, auxiliaries, community partners, and supporters to join us in recognizing these remarkable children throughout the month of July. A simple gesture of appreciation can make a lasting impact.
To help make participation easy, Gratitude Initiative has created a free Law Enforcement Child Month Toolkit filled with ready-to-use resources, activities, and awareness materials:

After a major rescue operation, a small moment of comfort made a big impact.
The Pennsylvania SPCA recently rescued nearly 100 animals from a single home in Lancaster County, including a litter of 3-week-old puppies and their mother.
During recovery and care efforts, one of the officers brought the puppies to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office for a brief visit, creating a lighthearted moment of connection inside a place often associated with difficult cases.
Moments like these serve as a reminder of the human side of public service and the unexpected ways communities come together.

Today, the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police joins our law enforcement family in mourning the heartbreaking loss of two dedicated members of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Jeremy Coleman and Deputy Ethan Powers were taken far too soon in a tragic off-duty motorcycle crash. Also lost in this tragedy was Sgt. Coleman’s son-in-law, Nathan McCormick.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, coworkers, and the members of FOP Lodge 4 as they face the difficult days ahead.
The law enforcement profession is built on service, sacrifice, and commitment to others. Sgt. Coleman and Deputy Powers dedicated their lives to protecting their community, and their impact will continue to be felt by those who had the privilege of serving alongside them.
To our brothers and sisters at Lodge 4 and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, please know that the Colorado FOP stands with you. We share in your grief, and we remain ready to support you in any way we can.
May we honor their memories through our service, our unity, and our commitment to one another.
Rest easy, brothers. Your watch has ended, but your legacy will never be forgotten.
Three Philadelphia police officers (1 Sgt, 2 officers) were shot in a heinous attack over the weekend, please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
Thankfully all of them are expected to recover, and the Sgt involved is an absolute badass who after being shot applied a tourniquet to himself and then applied one to another officer who was shot.
And oh yeah these heroes stayed in the fight after being shot, returned fire, and neutralized the dirtbag…permanently!
Absolute heroes!

Two more officers shot yesterday…that makes 5 officer shot, one dead in the last 3 days.
Please keep the two Atlantic City PD officers shot serving a search warrant yesterday in your thoughts and prayers.
Both are expected to survive the heinous attack and the dirtbag who shot them was neutralized…permanently.
While we see violent crime declining, we continue to historic number of officers assaulted and shot.
Anyone claiming these isn’t a War on Cops in America is either delusional or just a liar.

Please join us in praying for the Munoz family, especially their two young children, and for the entire Greenville Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.
Douglas County @SheriffWeekly condemned Governor Jared Polis’ decision to grant clemency to a convicted felon who attempted to murder two Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies. Brandin Kreuzer has served just 15 years of his 45-year sentence.
The case stems from a violent, month-long crime spree in 2008 orchestrated by Brandin Kreuzer and Taylor Moudy. The coordinated crime wave, which terrorized communities across Douglas County and Castle Rock, culminated in a high-speed pursuit where deputies were ambushed with high-powered rifle fire, resulting in the wounding of Deputy Todd Tucker.
Sheriff Weekly, who personally worked as an investigations commander on the original case, released the following statement:
"I have spoken with both deputies involved, and they are absolutely furious, as am I. The audacity of Governor Polis to grant clemency to a would-be cop killer on National Peace Officer Memorial Day shows a complete lack of respect for the brave men and women who wear the badge and put their lives on the line every day. I personally worked on this case and remember what it took to track these two suspects down. I will have more to say in the coming days."
