Preparing people in prison to return home successfully is a big part of our mission.
At the Rifle Correctional Facility, the Beacon Program is changing how we help people get ready for life after prison. Built more like a school campus, this low-security facility gives residents more trust, mentoring from their peers, and real job training in skills like welding, repair work, farming, and cooking.
Residents are earning job certificates, working on community service projects, and even growing thousands of pounds of fresh food—donating 40% of it to local families!
When we give people useful skills, responsibility, and hope, we help create safer neighborhoods for everyone in Colorado.
