Old habits die hard 💀.
One of the best ways to change them is to fill them with something new and positive. Instead of telling yourself you can’t do or have something, try something new in place.
Things they have in common:
✅ The goal is to be consistent.
✅You eat less calories.
✅Can be followed unhealthily.(and healthily)
✅ Evokes passionate debates and feelings.
✅ Usually someone is selling you something.
Things a great coach doesn’t do:
🚫 Dominates the conversation
🚫 Assumes they know peoples goals and situations
🚫 Seeks to interject/impose their will on clients
🚫 Makes stuff up when they don’t know something
🚫 Views their relationship with clients as “adversarial”
Things that a good coach does:
✅ Listens intentionally.
✅ Asks questions and assess.
✅ Seeks to understand.
✅ Strides to get “buy in”
✅ Admits when they don’t know something, but is a lifelong learner.
✅ Is on your “team”.

Body fat percentage (percent of body weight that is not lean mass)
So which one should you focus on? 🤔
People who have success in their fitness routines:
👉80% of their time is spent perfecting the basics (squats, push ups, rows,ect)
👉They show up even on the days they are not feeling it.
👉They focus daily on the successful habits/routines vs. destinations
New Client John: How many days should I work out?
Me: As someone new to “working out” let’s start with 2-3 days of resistance training and 20-30 minute walks on the days in between. Does that sound manageable?
Most people have a warped understanding of how much they are eating and drinking or where their calories are coming from. A cocktail here and a mindless snack there can amount to hundreds of extra calories a week…
Try keeping a food log or what I call a “eating audit” for a week or two to see what your habits are. The goal is not to judge what you’re doing, but rather get a birds eye view and build a better understanding.
Don’t focus on mowing the lawn when your house is on fire. 🔥
If you don’t have the basics down don’t drive yourself crazy worrying about what supplements to take or what advance intermittent raw vegan anti-lectin diet to follow.
