🧵1/13 Over the last two years, I have compiled into a table investigations by six human rights organizations and fact-finding bodies into no less than 37 separate incidents of Israeli strikes in Gaza since October 2023. Together, these strikes killed at least 1573 Palestinians.
Of all the propagandists out there delighting in the mass slaughter of Palestinians and Lebanese over the last months, few are more irredeemably vile than Douglas Murray
"Even if one were to blindly accept that each of the journalists included in 'The Press Files' was a militant, the [Israeli] army has no accusations whatsoever against at least 113 more journalists whom it killed in Gaza during the past three years." https://t.co/XG7Z3UWnPC
It would be nice if Western media gave a damn about the Israelis killed *by Israel* on October 7th. They may not - but we here at Zeteo do. Watch @mehdirhasan take you through that day, explaining the secretive 'Hannibal Directive' and how it was deployed by the Israeli military
The Jewish community accepted partition in 36, 47 and 48. The Palestinian leadership violently rejected those offers. In 48 Palestinians and later Arab states went to war to prevent the birth of a Jewish state. They lost. So what nationalism is racist again?
🚨I checked every single name on Israel's list of 170 Gazan "terrorist" journalists. It's the most sloppy shameless fraud possible🧵
In the overwhelming majority of those listed, the IDF presents ZERO credible evidence. In most of them, their pages are literally blank.
In this edition of "shooting & crying", Yair Lapid says the Israeli public's enthusiasm for killing babies is bad, not for Palestinian babies, but for Israelis, because they have "become like Hamas".
On Oct. 7, Hamas killed 1 baby; since Oct. 7, Israel has killed 1,000 babies.
Israeli Opposition Leader Yair Lapid on Gaza:
I had a painful meeting with a group of very young people, and I heard all the lines about how "everyone has to be killed" and "there are no innocents." I asked them, "Babies?" They said, "Babies too, because eventually they’ll grow up and become terrorists."
I said, "Even a two-week-old baby?" And I thought: Hamas won. Those are Hamas’s standards. That is what Hamas wanted — for us to become like them.
I support the use of force. But I am saying that we must not become like them.
EXCLUSIVE: Leaked photograph depicts the "research" and "writing" processes of top hasbara intellectuals John Spencer (@SpencerGuard) and @Mr_Andrew_Fox, both of whom I recently exposed for repeatedly using AI to write entire or near-entire articles.
"There is currently no public evidence linking Ward to the pro-Palestine movement ... Despite this, pro-Israel voices suggested that anti-Zionism, the pro-Palestine movement and 'anti-Israel' government policies were responsible for causing the attack." https://t.co/FjthOSgZg5
The IDF not only killed more children than any military or militant group this century, but also more women: more than the genocidaires in Darfur and Myanmar.
Assadist forces over 14 years of civil war in Syria may have killed slightly more women than the IDF in under 3 years in Gaza. But this is misleading because "Assadist Forces" combines multiple militaries and militant groups, such as Hezbollah and the IRGC, not just the SAA. If we compared the IDF to the SAA, or to the IRGC, or to the Russians, any one group in Syria, the IDF would have killed more women (in two years vs 14 years, in a much smaller theater against a much more poorly equipped enemy, etc).
Thus, the IDF has killed the most women AND the most children of any military in the 21st century. This is all the more remarkable given that Gaza has proportionally a lot fewer women than most other parts of the world. (That is because Gaza is about half children, meaning it is only about half adults, including women, who are adults by definition.)
@noam_dworman@History__Speaks For months and months scholars like Matthew drew Spencer's attention to the fact that the 9:1 claim was false, but he kept repeating the lie anyways, until very recently. He's a propagandist and a charlatan.
@MarkKersten Would be very interested, once the ruling is issued, on your thoughts and analysis regarding implications for the ICJ's Gaza genocide case (South Africa v. Israel).
@BrianDijkema Agreed that we are now arguing in circles. The nub of our disagreement is whether there is a genocide in Gaza. If you’d ever like to discuss that topic further, I’m open to a private conversation, which I imagine would be more fruitful than litigating on X.
@BrianDijkema Re: genocide: I don’t think you’ve fully grappled with the arguments & evidence that Israel is perpetrating this crime. I’d be willing to have a civil and private discussion. Otherwise, I hope you’ll reach out to a good faith and informed interlocutor who can make the case.
@BrianDijkema There is a genocide in Gaza. And again, you can say the protestors shouldn’t have inferred the views of this particular attendee, but the fact is they did so because *he was attending a talk justifying the crimes of a genocidal state,* not because he was Jewish.
@BrianDijkema 1. I implore you to read the voluminous human rights literature on this topic, virtually all of which says the opposite. 2. No, related to the fact he was attending an event in support of a state perpetrating genocide. “Zionist” and “Jewish” are not synonyms.
@BrianDijkema And again, if during Ramadan a mosque hosted an state apologist for Saudi crimes in Yemen, and protesters yelled at attendees that they were “going to hell” etc., that wouldn’t be evidence of anti-Muslim hate because they aren’t protesting Muslims but support for Saudi *policies*
@BrianDijkema The event was set up and advertised as including talk by a former ambassador, and present apologist, for a state currently engaged in genocide in Gaza. If the Israeli consulate had hosted him, the protesters would have been at the consulate.
