What allowing Russia to sell oil products means was heard most clearly in Kyiv just now, when, after repeated attacks on energy facilities with jet-powered “shaheds,” Russia launched a ballistic missile attack as well. Some of the missiles were intercepted. This once again clearly demonstrates Russia’s true intentions. They count on prolonging the war, terrorizing ordinary people, and destroying infrastructure.
Every additional billion dollars they can earn from exports will be spent on nothing but sourcing and importing critical components and equipment to manufacture weapons, upgrading “shaheds,” producing missiles, and recruiting even more mercenaries to fight at the front. Russia’s choice is war. And they will be ready to end it only when they feel that their ability to drag the war out is diminishing.
Unfortunately, the signals Russia received yesterday were entirely different – signals suggesting that it could simply keep attacking. And this needs to be corrected. Strong signals are needed from the United States, Europe, and other partners – signals in support of Ukraine and to RESTRICT Russia’s ability to wage war and terrorize people. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine!
@RichardvReeves@bigthink Currently I am researching the role of youth purpose and student engagement in school. Very interested in the study by Fiona Shand you mentioned. Could you provide the specific source. Thanks. Really appreciated the video!
@skdh Greenhouse gases allow short wave radiation to pass through the atmosphere but block a portion of long wave radiation from escaping by absorbing it a reradiating it in all directions. They act sort of like a one way valve, but a leaky one. Adding more GHGs slows the leaking.
The energy revolution is unfolding live, much faster than most people realize. A thread based on the insurgent view of the energy transition of @RockyMtnInst and @KingsmillBond
In short: The fight against climate change is accelerating - look at the data and do the math

@RosePillay1 When I encounter this situation I think of a word that includes as many letters as possible that would work as the fourth letter in the word. Sacrifice one turn to identity/eliminate the possibilities.
@RadioFreeTom@TimTakeMFT But "the way we talk about climate change to young people" need only be the best estimates of what the future holds and a sober assessment of what we have done about it so far to induce quite rational sense of despair. I experienced it simply by reading peer reviewed literature.
Really happy to see the FDA approved Roflumilast Cream for Plaque Psoriasis. Hopefully Canada won't be too far behind. My daughter did the clinical trial for this and it made a huge improvement in her life. @GovCanHealth@CPHO_Canada 🙏🏼 https://t.co/k8bitzfctz via @DermTimesNow
