Good morning, all. Thank you to all of you who have followed us on this journey since 2019. It's been a difficult road. If you've been with us since the beginning, you know @TheColumbian has thrown obstacle after obstacle at our union.
This bleak outcome is a sad testament to the Campbell family’s nihilistic determination to crush the union at any cost rather than listen to the concerns of its employees.
We will overcome this challenge just as we’ve overcome everything else The Columbian has thrown at us, and we will keep returning to the bargaining table for as long as it takes to make the company understand that it can’t bully its way out of its obligations to its staff.

The Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild has filed two still-pending unfair labor practice charges against the company with the NLRB. Both allege the Company has failed to fulfill its duty to bargain in good faith with the Guild, a violation of federal labor law.
... are the same managers who sit on the company’s bargaining team and, in session after session, refuse to negotiate raises with the Guild.
The company knows exactly what it’s doing. (9/9)
Following our most recent bargaining session, The Columbian sent a letter to unit members in which it once again characterized the Guild's salary proposal as "breathtakingly unrealistic." (1/12)
You could say it’s a left-hand-doesn’t-know-what-the-right-is-doing situation, except that it’s the same people; the newsroom managers who refuse to consider individual raises and demand that the issue be dealt with at the bargaining table... (8/9)
