We all deserve AI protections — not just reporters.
Tell @SeattleTimesCo that these critical journalists can't be replaced with AI by emailing publisher Ryan Blethen at [email protected].
.@seattletimes management has offered the union some protections around the use of AI — but only to reporters.
Management still insists it needs the right to replace other @SeaTimesUnion workers with AI.
@DeckhandAuthor@AlexaVaughn@deray Canceling your subscription wouldn't help our cause, but sending an email directly to publisher Ryan Blethen would! His email is [email protected]. Thank you for the support!
@AlexaVaughn Thanks for boosting, @AlexaVaughn! We really appreciate all the support. We'll have more ways to help our fight soon, but for now readers can send an email to Ryan Blethen, our publisher, to voice concerns about management's position. His email is [email protected].
We're back at the bargaining table, where @seattletimes management has rejected our proposal guaranteeing @SeaTimesUnion workers won't be replaced by AI.
Management's position is inexcusable.
We deserve a fair contract now — one with real job protections.
UPDATE: The Everett NewsGuild is calling on Herald subscribers to support their contract fight as Carpenter Media Group continues to offer low wages and tie meager raises to story quotas. (1/5)

We did it!!! Yesterday the unit voted unanimously to ratify a new contract that will immediately secure hardworking journalists at @CascadePBSNews an average raise of 6.76% and an average 18.3% wage increase over the course of the four-year contract.
📢 BREAKING: Our unit has officially delivered a strike pledge to @CascadePBSNews leadership in response to their most recent unfair proposal.
After 8 months of stalled bargaining, they’re still refusing fair wages and benefits. We’re not backing down.

These are exactly the issues we want addressed in our new contract. Our unit members want to continue serving the community at @CascadePBS. But to do that sustainably, we need a #FairContractNow. You can help us get one by signing our petition. https://t.co/w6J8ARQJRV (2/2)
Our @PacNWGuild siblings @EverettGuild need our help! As Herald journalists fight for fair wages, management is offering a meager raise attached to an unreasonable daily story quota.
Please tell management these hard-working journalists deserve better ⬇️ https://t.co/prbzbzbHcU
We used our lunch break to stand together and get the word out about our contract fight. You can help us in that fight by signing our petition today! https://t.co/w6J8ARQJRV
Today at noon, @CascadePBSUnion members used our lunch break to rally for fair wages and a fair contract. If you’re in the area, drop by and say hi - we’ll be the ones in the bright red shirts ✊
We did it! A majority of @adndotcom newsroom staff voted to unionize. The @nlrbgov counted our ballots today via Zoom after receiving a few mail-in ballots.
This makes the ADN the only unionized newsroom in Alaska. Thank you for your support! #ADNunited
