Happy Father’s Day! Today, we want to particularly acknowledge preeclampsia’s underappreciated impact on fathers. Preeclampsia and other pregnancy complications can mean watching someone you love face the unexpected while trying to be her calm, her advocate, and her source of strength. To these dads, and to all dads, we see and celebrate you! #Preeclampsia #FathersDay
The first-ever @WHO /HRP Global #Preeclampsia Summit just took place in Kigali. Comanche was there.
150+ stakeholders. 50+ countries. United around the urgent need to prevent, diagnose, and treat preeclampsia at a global scale.
The hard work of turning that commitment into action starts now.

This Mother’s Day, we’re honored to share this powerful story in the @TheAthletic featuring our board member @allysonfelix, the most decorated U.S. track and field athlete in Olympic history, and her teammate, Olympic gold medalist, Tianna (Bartoletta) Madison.
Their stories remind us that #preeclampsia can affect any family, and that Black women in the U.S. continue to face a disproportionately high risk of #pregnancy complications and #maternal death.
Every mother deserves the chance for a safer pregnancy.

Prof. Shaun Brennecke AO has spent decades advancing preeclampsia research, authoring 450+ publications, co-founding Australia's only preeclampsia patient organization AAPEC in 1993, and is now Principal Investigator for Comanche's Phase Ib trial of CBP-4888. Honored to work alongside him.
Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal and infant mortality worldwide. It affects between 2% and 8% of all pregnancies and is linked to more than 70,000 maternal deaths and approximately 500,000 perinatal deaths each year.
This month, for Preeclampsia Awareness Month, Comanche Biopharma is proud to join the global community of researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates working to end #preeclampsia.
While significant progress has been made in understanding and diagnosing this disease, no approved treatment yet exists. Comanche is working to change that, developing the first ever therapy targeting a root cause of preeclampsia.
Throughout May, we are highlighting the global impact of this disease and the extraordinary people dedicating their careers to addressing it.

Exciting news from the @KECKSchool_USC! With this extraordinary commitment to support maternal health research, @allysonfelix continues to demonstrate leadership in action. We're honored to have Allyson on Comanche's Board and grateful for her dedication to championing innovation in #preeclampsia and other long-overlooked #maternalhealth conditions.
“There are times when you’ll ask for change, and times when you’ll have to create it.”
@keckschool_usc announces a $2.3M gift from @allysonfelix to advance maternal health research. Supporting @DrFejzo, this work focuses on GDF15 to identify early risk. https://t.co/A962PPa4lV
Held annually on April 11-17, Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW) is a week-long campaign founded and led by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Inc. (BMMA) to build awareness, foster activism, and community-building, amplifying the voices, perspectives, and lived experiences of Black mamas and birthing people.
Black women have the highest prevalence of #preeclampsia and #eclampsia, experiencing these disorders at rates five times higher than their white counterparts. This BMWH, we help raise awarness of this and other maternal health disparities impacting Black mothers, and the need to address the multifactorial inequalities driving these stark gaps.

Congratulations to @preeclampsia on the launch of this new educational resource for clinicians.
Greater understanding of placental biomarkers like #sFlt-1 and #PlGF can help guide clearer decisions, support more informed care, and ultimately improve outcomes for mothers and babies.

This project, which was funded in part by our colleagues and corporate partner Roche Diagnostics, involved collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers and researchers: https://t.co/fubs3DQZrG
The recent death of Janell Green Smith, a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Doctor of Nursing Practice in South Carolina, is devastating and highlights the persistent issue of maternal mortality in the United States and its disproportionate impact on Black women.
According to CNN and other news outlets, Dr. Green Smith, who dedicated her career to helping Black women give birth safely, was admitted to the hospital two months early with severe preeclampsia. She gave birth, developed complications that required surgery, and tragically died soon after.

Dr. Green Smith's story is a stark reminder of the gaps in how obstetric complications are identified and managed, and the disparities that continue to place Black women at higher risk. Addressing maternal mortality requires a sustained commitment to make pregnancy and childbirth safer, better use of available tools to assess risk, and continued pursuit of meaningful innovation in pregnancy treatments. Women and their babies deserve better.
Our CEO T Scott Johnson sat down with @endpts@ky_lahucik to discuss Comanche Biopharma's recent additional $40 million in funding to support the planned global clinical trial of our lead investigational siRNA drug candidate CBP-4888, which was specifically designed to address a known root cause of preterm #preeclampsia - elevated levels of the protein sFlt1.
Scott also discussed the comprehensive activities we've undertaken as a company to ensure that we are setting the gold standard for clinical studies in #pregnant women.
We look forward to an important year ahead as we continue to work with passion and purpose to make preterm preeclampsia a thing of the past and help ensure safer #pregnancies around the world!

Pregnancy is not a nine month event. It offers a window into a woman’s future health. Complications like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes increase long-term risks for heart disease, stroke, and more. Too many women never hear this.
Thank you to @American_Heart for highlighting this critical gap in women’s health and urging better long-term care for women who experience pregnancy complications.
Comanche Biopharma is committed to advancing science that changes the impact of preeclampsia across a woman’s life.

As Preeclampsia Awareness Month comes to a close, we extend our gratitude to all the Champions of Change who shared their experiences.
From personal stories of survival and healing to the groundbreaking work of advocates and scientists, each contribution brought to light the realities of preeclampsia, eclampsia, and HELLP syndrome, and the strength, dedication, and vision it takes to confront them.
Thank you for inspiring greater understanding, deeper empathy, and a continued commitment to progress.
Comanche Biopharma is dedicated to driving meaningful change in maternal health. We are guided by purpose, grounded in evidence, and committed to those we serve. We hope you’ll follow our journey.

On World Preeclampsia Day, we recognize the scientists, clinicians, and advocates working to change the future of maternal health. Science transforms lives, and Dr. Ananth Karumanchi’s discoveries have transformed our understanding of preeclampsia. By identifying sFlt-1 as a root cause, his work enabled the development of diagnostic tools now used around the world and continues to guide efforts to develop effective treatments. We are especially grateful for his insight in shaping our clinical program and for the enduring impact he has made on maternal health.
On Thursday, May 22 at 12:00 PM ET, @EndPreeclampsia is hosting an important World Preeclampsia Day program: The Preeclampsia Puzzle: Biomarkers and Breakthroughs.
This session will explore how science is helping to piece together the causes of preeclampsia, how it can be detected earlier, and how clinical research is shaping the future of care. Featuring Maged Costantine and Michelle Silasi, and moderated by EndPreeclampsia founder Kara Boeldt, the program will make complex science more understandable and more meaningful for everyone.

Jennifer is one of Comanche’s trusted patient advisors and a survivor of eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and sepsis.
What began as a normal day ended in an emergency delivery, days in the ICU, and a month-long NICU stay for her son Donovan. The experience shaped her decision to focus on advocacy and public health.
We’re honored to feature Jennifer’s story as part of our Champions of Change series during Preeclampsia Awareness Month.
