طبق اطلاع تشکل‌های صنفی و دانشجویی دانشگاه، خبر بازداشت او به دلیل فشار مزدوران امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی بر خانواده‌اش تاکنون منتشر نشده‌بود و حتی نزدیک‌ترین دوستانش هم از ربوده‌شدن او بی‌اطلاع بودند.
