Today, I had the honour of addressing eminent leaders and other stakeholders in our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the 2025 Lagos State APC Stakeholders Forum, where I reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Lagos caucus in the Senate, for the Renewed Hope agenda of our revered leader, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT, GCFR.
Two years ago, Nigerians entrusted President Tinubu with the leadership of our dear nation at a very challenging time. With courage and vision, he took bold steps; ending the fuel subsidy scam, unified the exchange rate, and refocused national resources on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social investment.
Today, those reforms are yielding results. Our economy is stabilizing, revenues are growing, and opportunities are expanding for citizens across all sectors. The National Assembly has remained a strong partner in this progress, passing laws that give lasting strength to these reforms.
As a proud son of Lagos and the representative of the great people of Lagos East, I join our party faithful to boldy endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, on the account of his impressive scorecard since he assumed office in 2023.
Together, we will keep building a stronger, united, and more prosperous nation.

Dear God,
Please don’t give me what will shatter my peace. 🙏
Even if my heart desires it, but it will cost me my peace, take it away from me completely. Amen. 👏
Peace over everything.

Today, alongside the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, I paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso.
Our discussions centered on strengthening collaboration to ensure sustainable economic growth, financial stability, and the overall prosperity of Lagos State and Nigeria at large, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our revered leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
I remain committed to fostering partnerships that will continue to bring development to our people, especially in areas of economy, financial inclusion, and investment opportunities.

Being surrounded by wealth isn’t the same as owning it. In all you do, ask God for your own blessings so you don’t just sit at the table, but bring something to it. 🙏
Welcome to October. May Grace erase every trace of DisGrace.

Self-respect is the foundation of all respect. Value yourself, and you set the standard. When you honor who you are, others have no choice but to respect you. Even Jesus taught self-worth. He carried Himself with dignity & authority and people responded with respect.

I want to sincerely thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, @officialABAT for graciously assenting to the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Bill, 2025, now signed into law as the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA), 2025.
As the lead sponsor of this landmark legislation and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, I am proud to be part of this bold step towards transforming Nigeria’s financial services sector.
The Act repeals and consolidates outdated laws into a unified framework, raises capital requirements to strengthen insurers, and introduces strict timelines for claims processing, restoring trust and accountability in the system. It also provides for dedicated protection funds for policyholders, digitizes insurance operations for greater transparency and accessibility, and empowers the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) with stronger supervisory powers. Additionally, the law strengthens the enforcement of compulsory insurance and expands Nigeria’s participation in regional schemes like the ECOWAS Brown Card.
The NIIRA is more than reform, it’s a strategic move aligned with the Federal Government’s vision of a $1 trillion economy, delivering renewed hope to Nigerians by promoting investment, job creation, and financial inclusion.
I commend my colleagues in both chambers of the National Assembly, the leadership of NAICOM, and every stakeholder who contributed to the success of this journey. As we now move into the implementation phase, I am confident that we will witness significant progress in deepening insurance penetration and strengthening public trust.
Together, we are laying the foundation for a safer, more resilient, and prosperous Nigeria.

Today, I hosted the APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, alongside zonal youth leaders from across the federation, as well as Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje, a leading policy strategist at the renowned Lagos Business School, on a visit to the SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu.
Their visit was a reaffirmation of the shared vision we hold; to empower young Nigerians through access to digital innovation, skills, and opportunity. The SAIL Lab is a community-driven, world-class hub where young people are trained in a range of in-demand skills including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Game Design, Software Engineering, among others; all at no cost.
At the heart of SAIL is a simple belief: when we invest in young people, we secure the future of our nation. I am glad that the impact of this initiative is already being felt far beyond Lagos East, with hundreds of alumni now gainfully employed or building their own ventures.
I thank Dr. Israel, Mr. Agbaje, and the team for recognising this work and for championing innovation-driven youth development.
Together, under the Renewed Hope agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we will continue to champion innovation, deepen inclusion, and build a future where Nigerian youths can truly compete globally.
The Progressive Digital Summit ongoing in State House, Abuja is not just a the regular event. It’s a well organized and well packed event.
Well done once again @DOlusegun#DigiMediaSummit2025
